Over the past 48 hours, contradictions have emerged regarding the situation around Bab el-Mandeb. The Sana’a forces control Sheikh Said and the town of Al Ardi and carried out incursions into the Al-Azaf area, withdrawing afterwards as they were unable to consolidate their positions. A similar situation is unfolding at Dhubab airport, where Aden forces have established a temporary presence only to withdraw subsequently, due to the impossibility of defending themselves on flat, exposed terrain. This is why Aden forces are currently attempting to take control of Al Hamra and Jabal Kahbub, in order to gain access to Jabal al-Umari and the headquarters of the 17th Brigade. 🇾🇪 Map: [ ]

Yemen: Operation “And Allah is More Severe in Power and More Severe in Punishment” [7/10/2026]: 🇾🇪 After clearing the lower pocket, Sanaa forces continued advancing in the upper pocket toward the city of Taiz. - On the Jabal Habashi front, Ansarallah captured the summit of that mountain as well as Al-Mansama, Al-Bariha, and Al-Munim, but was repelled in its attempt to capture Jabal Al-Armah. Meanwhile, the effort to encircle the mountainous area continued with the capture of Namrah and Wadi Hanna. - On the Mishrak front, Sanaa forces captured Qash’ah, Nawazil (an attack toward the northern highway was repelled in this direction), Rahbah, Shabit, Waraqa, Hebbah, and Al-Matali. Meanwhile, PLC forces were able to repel Ansarallah’s attempts to advance toward Najd Qusaym, recapturing Al-Kulaibah. Map: [ ]

‘Normality’ is returning to Gao province. 🇲🇱🇷🇺 🏳️🏴 Following the joint JNIM-FLA offensive in late April, the Afrika Corps and the FAMa have been re-entering the areas abandoned in early May and expanding their military operations. An example of this can be found in N’Tillit, a town under the nominal control of JNIM but which remains the subject of ongoing disputes with ISSP. The Russian-Malian military operations met with no resistance, demonstrating a reduction in the jihadists’ initial strength from April, which had been weakened by Russian and government attacks on their camps and militants. The YNA’s retreat toward Al Mukha continued during the early morning hours of September 10, while Ansarallah capitalized on the momentum to continue advancing from the north (capturing Ḩasy Sālim, Al Ma‘āqim, An Nujaybah, Al Mandūb, Az Zahārī, Al Kadarah, and Yakhtul) and from the east (capturing Jabal al-Nar and Mawza). By early morning, forces from Sanaa had entered the city of Al Mukha, having secured territorial gains of 3,000 square kilometers during the six-day offensive. 🇾🇪 Map: [ ]

Disfrutadlo. 🇪🇸

Following the official dissolution of the SDF, fresh reinforcements from the MoI security forces (not to be confused with STG forces) entered the city of Hasakah to bolster their presence (alongside the Kurdish Asayish, who currently make up the majority in the city) and to deploy to the remaining institutions of the former SDF in order to speed up the process of institutional integration agreed in January 2026. 🇸🇾

Situation south of Lebanon [17/4/2026]: The Israeli army withdrew from Bint Jbeil and Khiam. 🇱🇧 🇮🇱 Following the ceasefire, the IDF withdrew to the outskirts of Bint Jbeil, allowing Hezbollah and resistance groups to resupply the besieged troops. In Khiam, the resistance managed to thwart Israel’s attempts to occupy the town after more than a month of fighting and forced the Israeli withdrawal to Tell al-Hamamis to the south-west. Following the withdrawal, Israel violated the ceasefire by bombing the town just as its inhabitants were returning. Thousands of civilians are returning to southern Lebanon following the announcement of the ceasefire, including by crossing the Litani River after the destruction of the bridges, in the hope of remaining in what remains their home, removing the flag of occupation and colonialism. Situation on Aleppo [13/1/2026]: After the victory in #Aleppo, the #STG took advantage of the momentum gained with Turkish-American diplomatic support to prepare for an offensive in the east of Aleppo governorate, sending reinforcements together with the SNA (& TSK support) to the Tishrin and Deir Hafer fronts, as well as to Raqqa, on the Ma'dan-Ghanem Ali axis. Consequently, the #SDF has also sent reinforcements to these fronts in anticipation of a large-scale confrontation that will end any attempt at diplomacy in Syria and mark the beginning of a new violent phase of the civil war.

Despite the propaganda about economic recovery and improved security in Syria, the reality is quite different… and harsh. 🇸🇾 Contrary to the projected return of more than one million citizens by 2025, the flow of returnees has not only slowed in 2026 but has actually reversed, so that the number of Syrians leaving the country is once again greater than the number who left earlier. Furthermore, all religious and ethnic groups are represented among the new exiles, dispelling any notion that minorities are fleeing the country en masse. Even the Sunnis—who have formed Jolani’s support base—are being forced to flee the country due to the poor performance of the new authorities in Damascus in their economic and social policies, their inability to manage the regional and internal crisis, and despite international support and the lifting of sanctions. Nor are these images encouraging for Lebanon, which is embroiled in a war of occupation by Israel; a new wave of refugees could bring even greater instability than the country already faces.

Today morning Iranian air defenses shot down a U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet as it flew over central Iran. 🇮🇷 🇺🇸 This is the first confirmed case of a US manned fighter jet being shot down by enemy fire inside Iran since the beginning of the regional war (Iran has claimed to have shot down other US fighter jets, but without completely solid evidence to prove a shootdown, although damage to them has been demonstrated). Thousands of local people are searching the mountains for the US pilot after Iran government offered rewards for them. Meanwhile, a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft and two U.S. UH-60 helicopters conducted an operation in western Iranian airspace to locate and rescue the pilots. After several hours, at least one of the pilots appears to have been rescued, while the fate of the other remains unknown.

Black Hawk Down! 🇮🇷 🇺🇸 Search aircraft flew over southern and western Iran at low altitude to avoid being shot down by air defenses. However, this left the aircraft vulnerable to ground attacks, complicating the rescue operation. In fact, a Black Hawk was shot down by Iranian air defenses. Despite this, the crew was able to abandon the helicopter and was rescued alive. Also an A-10 was shot down too during the rescue operations while was flying over the Persian Gulf.

The town of Ayn Issa remains under SDF control despite continuous assault and bombardment by the SNA. In the rest of the governorate, the SDF has withdrawn to Hasakah or continues to withdraw, and fighting continues in Raqqa. Following the uprising of tribal groups, the governorate capital was taken pending the arrival of the STG, which happened later. However, pockets of SDF resistance continue to skirmish with the militants while receiving support from Division 17 Army Base and other military outposts north of Raqqa. The reasons for this resistance are to buy time for a complete withdrawal and to avoid what happened in Maskanah and Deir Hafer the previous day. Map: [ ]

It has been three years since the attack by Hamas and other Palestinian resistance groups against Israel—a miscalculated attack that sealed the fate of the Gaza Strip. 🇵🇸🇮🇱 The Palestinian forces thought the rest of the resistance would come to their aid, and they were wrong. As a result, they gave Israel a pretext to intensify its policy of extermination against the Palestinians, leading to a massacre that left more than 60,000 dead in its bombing campaign and ground offensive. That offensive eventually spread to Lebanon and significantly weakened Hezbollah following the decapitation operation. As for Syria, the October 7 attack was not a death sentence, since the military leadership’s betrayal had been brewing since 2021; all that was needed was the green light for the plan to be set in motion. Three years later, the axis of resistance has been considerably weakened by the loss of the Syrian bridgehead, but this has not meant its end. Iran and the Iraqi, Lebanese, and Yemeni resistance have regained the initiative and have managed to stand up to a U.S.-Israeli operation. Hezbollah continues to resist in southern Lebanon, where the struggle has become an existential battle primarily for the Shia community, while in Syria, the resistance is building slowly but inexorably. In Gaza, however, the resistance has been defeated, with no possibility of reorganization and a strip condemned to the expansionist delusions of Zionism and its allies in the Middle East. Had the attacks of October 7 not occurred, they might have prevented thousands of deaths and the enormous instability now plaguing the region, but they would not have brought about peace in the Middle East. The clash between two models—Zionism and the resistance to it—was inevitable. However, in light of Syria’s fall and the hypocrisy hidden behind “Arab unity,” we must reconsider whether the resistance’s objectives should be changed or approached differently, choosing loyal allies and exposing traitors. Only in this way can the axis of resistance emerge victorious in a Middle East that is different from the one that existed when it was created.
