This video from this morning in Jodhpur shows parents and activists protesting outside a Christian school after its staff tore off posters bearing Hanuman Ji’s pictures in front of students yesterday. A protester told me some students had pasted posters of Hanuman Ji in classrooms, but the staff tore them saying no display of any other religion. Most students are from Hindu Jat community Till a decade ago, Hindus would let this sort of a thing pass without noise. Why it has changed now? Lack of ‘tolerance’? Rising ‘Hindu extremism’? Well, it’s almost entirely to do with increasing awareness of how other communities deal with such ‘religious insults’ and how their action is justified. If a picture of Jesus was torn in a Hindu-run school, Christian organisations would cry religious persecution and add the incident to their many dubious lists of attacks. In the Uber cab I took today, I overheard the driver saying - “aap pakistan se ho na…” I started recording after that. The driver started - aapki Mecca medina mein pehle shivling thi..” You can hear the rest of what he said in this video till my destination arrived Before getting out, I asked him who he was talking to He said he is part of a group on an app named Trumeet, on which several Pakistanis have joined. And they engage Indians in conversations on religion, no matter what the original subject of the discussion was I asked what kind of conversations. He said like - like why do you Hindus worship cow as mother. And if you do, do you worship saand as baap I asked how do you respond. He said - some get influenced. Others like me criticise the Pakistanis on the group for asking these kind of questions and tell them to mind their own business and let us mind ours He also showed me a screenshot of the mobile app in which conversation was taking place I told him how anti-terrorist agencies have caught several people in India who got influenced by such Pakistani propaganda through chat apps and then got radicalised to carry out Jihadi terror acts within India, and how Zakir Naik-type conversion propaganda is now being carried out through such apps He said he will share this information on to other friends

A couple of disturbing videos and audio recordings recently emerged from phone of a man named Mohd Samad Qureshi from Delhi In the videos, he is seen sexually exploiting a minor girl. In another, he is confessing to a group that he specifically targeted Hindu girls for trapping them in relationships for sexual exploitation and recording their videos He said that five men, namely Mohd Sonu Turki, Mohd Sabir, Mohd Suheb, Mohd Rehaan and Mohd Munna, used to give him money for this job, nearly Rs 30k-40k for one girl He said that right now, he is involved with two girls and that in the past, he has targeted 6-7 girls this way - all Hindus The case came at a time when ‘love jihad’ - a name coined by Indian activists to describe the worldwide pattern of Muslim men targeting non-Muslim girls for sexual exploitation and religious conversion through nikah - is being vehemently protested across the country In the video below, a neighbour of a 14-year-old victim of Samad Qureshi reveals to me how Samad began to be seen in the locality around one year ago He introduced himself as Aman to everyone. Since 2 pm today, I have been sitting at a police station in Delhi with a young woman to get her FIR filed A serial criminal and notorious illegal arms supplier who is currently in jail, Mohd Fahim, trapped her because his maulvi mama told him that since he cannot go out of India for Haj given his criminal record, he must get a Hindu woman converted to Islam for same ‘sabaab’ to enter jannat (watch her video statement recorded by me) The woman, who is a Hindu from a scheduled caste, has been through a lot in last 4 years: gangrape, threats, force-feeding of cow meat, abuse, trauma and, most recently, threats from his jail cell Statement given.
