And what is the explanation for 5 minutes stoppage time? Of course other than PGMOL wanting the result to stand. Haaland scored his goal at 59:27 and Oliver points for a goal at 62:05. See video below. That is a 2 minutes and 38 second delay for the VAR review. Would only 2 minutes been added if the goal was not scored? I think everyone who saw the game agrees that there was an — extreme — amount of delay and time wasting in the 2nd half. I don’t think anyone even could try to argue that 2 minutes added time besides the VAR review was decided for any other reason than Oliver and the 4th ref wanting the stoppage time to be 4-5 minutes shorter than it should have been. And why wouldn’t they want to decide the game against United? He has done it so many times before — and still gets to call all these match-ups and he gets the top games despite numerous extremely questionable calls. But nothing will happen because everyone is fine with individual refs doing what they please on the pitch.

🚨💣UNBELIEVABLE just hours ago Ferran Seriano, CEO of City, makes this completely FALSE statement to City employees. Seriano claims that the whole PL case against City is based on a “single false accusation”, that owners made disguised payments to City via “sponsors in Abu Dhabi”. It is simply not even remotely true. The PL brought charges ans City was convicted of not disclosing payments made to a personel of City (presumably Mancini), a transfer fee paid for a player (presumably Brahim Diaz) and another player’s agent (Yayo Toure). These breaches resulted in costs being understated with more than £60m alone. These were serious charges, which the club denied, refused to cooperate about and gave explanations for that were deemed to he untrue/not serious. In addition — City were on 35 accounts accused of breaching the PL rules by not cooperating with the PL.

The players can of course work harder, but it is an extreme oversimplification to not acknowledge how hard it is for a team to press when they play such a deep line. This video illustrates one of several identical situations in the Fulham game. This has been an issue since before ETH came in. Under ETH it worked with Martinez-Varane -- but became a circus without them.

🚨Maguire was a monster defensively against NUFC, and we have many areas that must improve -- but this game clearly shows how Maguire is not capable to play the way we want with the ball and his presence on the pitch is the biggest structural issue we have. Here is why:

It would be easy to call out the defense for this one, but the issue is complete lack of game management. It’s been an issue for years and it must improve. There are 10-15 passes that second half where Utd really would have benefited from controlling the game more — but lose possession from bad decisions. Like, 60 minutes into the game when Everton has pinned us down in our own end and we are up 1-0, it is impossible to justify from a risk/reward perspective to try to make a low percentage pass in behind the defense to a Sesko running down towards the corner flag just after we have won possession. All United fans knows how it feels like when you are down a goal against City and they just play off 15-20 minutes. How can they be so good at it? Check the videos from the City documentary. I couldn’t find the best clip I’ve seen, but the below is a good example. Pep is absolutely losing his mind after players losing possession of the ball. In another video he literarily starts to cry. United doesn’t have to become City II. But this is an area we just must improve and it’s long long overdue. It really is as simple as this. If you are patient and get enough players up pitch — the opponent must defend with the same numbers. If you lose the ball in that position when the opponent is defending with 10 players in the lap of their keeper — it is very hard for an opponent to counter attack on you effectively. So you get every chance to win the ball back even if you lose it. When we have a lead in a game like this — we just can’t help ourselves. Give it 15 seconds and a Dalot or Maguire or Rashford or Bruno or Cunha or Mbuemo will try a play to get into a scoring chance. This must improve and it must improve soon.

A lot of focus on Atwell — but how we defend after taking a lead must be adressed. A very deep line makes any pressing impossible. The attacking No 9 can just step into the space between our defense and midfield and have a cup of tea before playing the ball without being disturbed.
