This morning, we released MTN Uganda’s financial results for the year ended 31st December 2025, and I’m proud to share that we delivered another year of strong growth and resilience. Feeling incredibly blessed and grateful as we share our 2024 scorecard. It was a great year for MTN Uganda as we delivered a record-breaking UGX 641.5 billion net profit in 2024. This is not just a number; it’s a reflection of the trust our customers have placed in us, the hard work and dedication of our amazing team, and the support of our stakeholders. With this success, we are giving back UGX 506 billion in dividends to our shareholders, while staying true to our purpose—connecting Ugandans to the benefits of a modern, connected world. We’ve grown our fintech users to 13.8 million, expanded data subscribers by 22.4% to 10.1 million, and most importantly, invested UGX 4.6 billion in community initiatives, positively impacting 6,800 lives across Uganda. Those who prepare will be the ones who lead! Greatly privileged to have joined the 2025 Journey to the Boardroom (Journey To The Boardroom) graduation ceremony last week, and what a joyous experience it was to be in their midst. JTB is a transformative corporate governance program targeting young leaders equipping them with skills to be board ready. It was lovely engaging with this cohort and seeing their excitement and wide awakening to the leadership responsibility they were being groomed for and their readiness to serve. This year, they celebrated 35 outstanding graduates, including 21 inspiring women who completed intensive training in governance excellence, risk management, finance, stakeholder engagement, and ESG leadership. Special thanks to Janet Navvuga, the visionary behind this movement, for inviting me to share my leadership journey and for her tireless work in championing a new era of diverse and inclusive leadership. Your passion and drive is truly inspiring. Huge congratulations to all these exceptional leaders – I'm excited to watch as you shape Africa's next generation of corporate governance and leadership excellence. Taking time today to celebrate a passionate and visionary leader who has been part of our MTN 🇺🇬 success story - Somdev Sen MTN UgandaCMO who has been our Chief Marketing Officer for the last 6yrs. I will remember Som for many things..his first answer to everything is No, No, No..😅…never being one to take the conventional path but always choosing to swim upstream…I have to admit, it took me a while to understand 😃. He has been passionate about DOING MORE for Uganda which has been demonstrated by key campaigns that he and his team have executed - many of them memorable, some of them provocative, but all driven by a passion to make our brand the subconscious choice of every Ugandan. He surprised me with his love for photography (it’s a patient sport…a skill which so contradicts his everyday personality!) but his most endearing attribute was the deep care he had for his team, creating an environment where everyone’s contribution was valued and celebrated. Thank you Somdev for your excellence and passion - the brand campaigns run under your wing will live on in the memory of our brand and national fabric - who can forget your passion for Uganda Cranes and how you fought to get us back into the game as the main sponsors of our national football team…or the unforgettable campaigns you executed that created deep connections with our customers…to name a few , ‘Uganda is Home’, ‘MTN MoMo Nyabo’, and most recently, ‘Together We Are Unstoppable’ .These initiatives have brought the MTN brand closer to our communities, resonating deeply with our customers and fueling the growth we see today.
