The #Afghan ambassador to #Pakistan Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb M. Sardar A Shakeeb AFG Embassy Pakistan addressed a gathering of military officers at the National Defence University #NDU. The Afghan embassy has released details of the envoy's address. The Afghan ambassador says "Afghanistan doesn’t want its soil to be used against Pakistan. At the same time, Afghanistan cannot accept that Pakistan’s security concerns should become a justification for military action on Afghan territory. If cooperation is expected from Afghanistan regarding specific concerns, Afghanistan likewise wishes to engage directly with Pakistan, regarding its own security concerns." He says "Pakistan has concerns regarding potential security threats from Afghan soil and Afghanistan fully understands these concerns. However, Afghanistan equally emphasizes that security-related allegations should be specific, exact and linked to concrete information, identifiable individuals, specific networks and particular cases. Both countries must move beyond outdated assumptions about each other’s present realities. Today’s Afghanistan should not be assessed through the lens of the past several decades. Afghanistan is not the Afghanistan of the Cold War. It is not the Afghanistan of the 90s, nor it is the Afghanistan that existed after 2001 under the direct influence of foreign military presence and foreign political involvement. After 2021, a new political reality has emerged in Kabul."

Hours after Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Mohsin Naqvi returned from Iran, the American charge d’affaires U.S. Embassy Islamabad met him in Islamabad. The interior ministry said “matters related to regional situation, peace and security came under discussion”. They also discussed ways to increase cooperation in various fields and training of police officers. The interior minister was part of the delegation led by the Army Chief/Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in talks with senior Iranian leaders.

A blast in a marketplace in South #Waziristan Friday injured several people, according to police and locals. A police officer Faheem Mehsud said the explosives were attached to a motorbike. The blast in Tehsil #Makeen caused damage to several shops. Three members of a pro-govt peace committee were among the injured.

#Afghan Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani on #Pakistan: Afghan Interior Minister Sirajuddin #Haqqani said in #Paktika on Tuesday that he wants peace in neighboring Pakistan and does not want problems and insecurity to arise from Afghan soil in that country or from their soil in Afghanistan, according to the Afghan Interior Ministry. Haqqani said the problems inherited from the occupation must be resolved through dialogue. Officials in #Bannu #Khyber #Pakhtunkhwa say militants have launched attack on a police station and both sides are exchanging gunfire. No report of casualties yet. Police said heavily armed militants attacked Kangar Pul police post in Mandan police station area. They attacked the police post with snipers and heavy weapons. Heavy exchange of fire between attackers and police is ongoing. More police personnel have been sent to the scene. A loya jirga or grand assembly called by the Awami National Party (ANP) Awami National Party #Khyber #Pakhtunkhwa Monday rejected imposition of taxes in %Malakand Division and ex #FATA and termed the taxes are against the historic, constitutional and legal promises. “These taxes would not be accepted,” a declaration said. #The jirga demanded of the federal government to withdraw the decision about the taxes in Malakand and in merged districts. The jirga also urged the provincial govt to take withdrawal the sales tax imposed since 2024. The declaration said Malakand and ex FATA was badly affected by the terrorism, floods and natural disasters where people suffered human and financial losses and their businesses also affected.
