The UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces said they arrested several individuals, including Brig. Gen. Al-Fatih Abdallah Idris, known as “Issa Abu Lulu,” for “violations” committed during the capture of El Fasher, where he and others were recorded executing dozens of civilians. The group claims that "legal committees" are investigating the cases. The statement from the Emirati-backed group stressed adherence to military discipline, human rights, and international law, rejecting "media exaggeration by the Islamic Movement" and reaffirming that all offenders will be held accountable. It should be noted that this is most likely damage control in response to the widespread footage of the atrocities committed by the RSF in El Fasher, as forces continue to target civilians.
