Was the PSA strike politically motivated? Minister Willis seems to think so. 👀 And it’s not hard to see why. The PSA is running an explicit “Change the Government” election campaign, while thousands of its members have just gone on strike against the Government. The PSA says it is not affiliated with any political party. But if a public-sector union is actively campaigning to change the Government, should we be asking whether the public service is really politically neutral? What do you think?

$60 million to Fletcher Building. That's right. Taxpayers' money to Fletcher Building-owned Golden Bay to offset costs created by its own Emissions Trading Scheme... If the ETS is making New Zealand businesses uncompetitive, why are taxpayers footing the bill instead of Ministers fixing the policy? You might already seen this on the News tonight but just in case... An ex-Lotto presenter who pleaded guilty to laundering money has reportedly been on full taxpayer-funded salary for five years after his arrest in a global FBI sting. Five years. Taxpayers have been paying the bills while the justice system dragged its feet. You couldn’t make it up! Ps. the wheel was last minute arts and craft but enjoy the blooper!

"I'm a taxpayer being taken for a ride here, once again." Heather du Plessis-Allan of Newstalk ZB chimes in on the Ministry for Business, Innovation, and Employment's (MBIE) 30-minute waiata session blow-out. Last week we revealed this story, but let's be clear: it isn't a criticism of culture, it's about a ministry that lost sight of its purpose. This is one song we've heard too many times before.

We just found out that a taxpayer-funded Parliamentary staffer led the Hikoi. This means that taxpayers might have ended up fronting part of the bill. But thanks to Parliament’s secrecy laws, we have no idea what we paid. If you want to end the secrecy and find out, head to to sign the petition today!

📦 𝟭𝟴,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱. 𝗨𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱. We asked for transparency with MP expenses. Parliament’s reply? “Not interested.” Despite overwhelming public support, the Parliament Bill amendments not be making MPs' expenses subject to Official Information Act requests. What are they trying to hide? We're not backing down. It’s time to Open the Books.
