His biggest strengths are his IQ (communication pre-snap, no blown assignments) and mirror ability in pass pro. He can also reach block in the run game. Deep breath Chargers fans this is not slander. Reckon this clip shows nicely how important trust is between a QB and WR. I think you’d say here on the first 3rd down of the game after the Henley INT that Herbert has Tre Harris open on the double sticks concept for the first down initially if he trusts the leverage he’s seeing, timing and throws with anticipation. The coverage will always gravitate towards Ladd and you can see this with the flat defender. He tries to hit ‘Tre again in the second window but it falls incomplete. The first window was tight, but probably there. Understand the turn down it’s a bit muddy but if Tre wore #13 I reckon he’d have thrown it. All in good time though! #TDUFilm🎥

Thoughts on the QJ injury yday: - Why is Roman drawing up a 9 route to QJ when by now we know it’s not the best way to utilize him (and with KLS/Tre’ on the roster)? Yes it’s Preseason and you trial things, but still. - QJ ran a great route, but could’ve used his frame better, still has issues with ball tracking, and Herbert also could’ve placed the ball a little closer to the sideline away from the MOF safety. - Hit wasn’t egregious but probs flag worthy. Bang bang play but it’s late and ball isn’t in the picture. - Minter and the Defensive Staff keep putting their players in a position to succeed. Offensive Staff the question marks remain. This isn’t it, G-Ro. #TDUFilm🎥 #QJ
