We stand with students and want every genuine concern about our examination system to be raised and addressed in Parliament. We are committed to root-and-branch reforms to build a transparent, technology-driven and accountable examination system. The Opposition must let Parliament function so these reforms can move forward.

This behaviour by State Bank of India Branch Manager is simply not acceptable. If you are doing customer interface work in Karnataka, especially in a sector like banking , it is important to communicate to customers in the language they know. Being adamant like this is simply not right. I have time and again raised this issue of mandatorily posting local staff or staff who know the local language in banking operations, both inside and outside Parliament. Just a few weeks ago, at a Public Accounts Committee meeting, I had raised this issue to the DFS Secretary who assured me action will be taken to follow a office notification that makes this requirement of local language knowledge compulsory. Looks like this still isn’t being enforced properly. I urge the concerned at State Bank of India to immediately implement the DFS policy that mandates local language requirement. I have spoken to concerned authorities to take action against this manager who has behaved in this manner. Banks working in Karnataka should serve customers in Kannada. Period.

Appeared before the Hon’ble HC of Karnataka in the batch of PILs challenging the Tunnel Project & the challenge to Rule 24 of BMLTA Rules. The Hon’ble Chief Justice directed the State government to inform pendency of the petition to the probable/possible contractor and that no equity shall be created. The award of any contract shall also be subject to the outcome of the PIL. The earlier order against the felling of trees in Lalbagh stands reiterated. HC will finally hear the matter on 20th August.

Senior citizens who’ve walked Lalbagh for decades aren’t requesting - they’re demanding: withdraw the Tunnel Road project. Don’t dismiss it as “just 1.92 hectares.” That’s nearly 5 acres of Lalbagh and a 3-billion year old geological heritage. Bengaluru won’t sacrifice its heritage for a project that won’t solve traffic. I’ll continue this fight until the project is scrapped. #SaveLalbagh

If every taxpayer can be tracked for every rupee he owes the government, why can’t the government show taxpayers where every rupee spent on roads has gone? The Government has admitted at various points that nearly ₹5,500 crore has been spent on Bengaluru’s roads. Citizens have a right to know where this money has gone and what outcomes it has delivered. My demand is simple. Within the next 30 days, the Government must launch a publicly accessible live dashboard for all road infrastructure works in Bengaluru. Every citizen should be able to see: • Which road is being worked on • The cost of the project • The contractor executing it • The officer responsible • The timeline for completion • The maintenance period • The defect liability period • The real-time status of the work This is not a difficult reform. Bengaluru is India’s technology capital. Hundreds of technology professionals would gladly volunteer their expertise to help build such a platform. Transparency creates accountability. Accountability improves quality. Quality builds public trust. ₹5,500 crore later, Bengaluru deserves answers. Build the dashboard. Put every road work online. Let citizens see where their money is going. Krishna Byre Gowda

I was travelling on the Purple Line this evening and missed today’s disruption by just a few minutes. I spoke to several fellow commuters and shared with them that I have written to the Commissioner of Railway Safety seeking an audit into the repeated disruptions. This is reportedly the 21st service disruption since January 2024. basetmajhee must explain why this keeps happening, make public the root cause of every incident, and tell Bengaluru what corrective measures have been taken. Commuters deserve transparency, accountability and a Metro they can rely on.

Lalbagh is Bengaluru’s living heritage and not real estate piece for sale. This morning, I met walkers, families and regular visitors at Lalbagh. They all had one message - Stop the Tunnel Road project. CM Shri DK Shivakumar had assured Bengalureans that Lalbagh would be protected. But the State Government in its own affidavit submitted to Hon’ble High Court says nearly 5 acres will be permanently acquired. Which version should Bengaluru believe? The State Government should stop pursuing misplaced priorities. Lalbagh is Bengaluru’s pride, not a place for commercial complexes.

In 1960, South Korea’s per capita income was $94. India’s was $82. China was neck and neck with us through the 1970s, India was actually ahead of China in 1980. But today Korea is 13 times richer than us in per capita terms, China is 5 times richer, Singapore is 38 times richer. Same starting point, just one difference, they freed their people to build. But the License-Permit-Quota Raj of Congress caged our economy and wealth creators.

It is a matter of immense pride that a boy from Basavanagudi's NR Colony has risen to become the Chief of Naval Staff of India. My best wishes to Admiral Krishna Swaminathan (PVSM, AVSM, VSM) as he takes on this prestigious responsibility of leading the Indian Navy and safeguarding India’s maritime interests.

Congress’ governance is a clear-cut example of a lack of planning and coordination. On one hand, the Bengaluru Development Minister says that short flyovers are not the solution. On the other hand, the government is laying foundation stones for short tunnel projects worth crores, with zero clarity. Bengaluru needs good governance, not pocket-filling projects that put the city at risk. We oppose these tunnel projects that waste the taxpayer money. DK Shivakumar Krishna Byre Gowda

Mr. CM, if fighting for Better Bengaluru is a crime, I am ready to get arrested a 1,000 more times. Do better, and initiate a new FFC for Namma Metro. NOW! C.K. Ramamurthy

What happens if delimitation is delayed or not undertaken? If nothing is done, Articles 81, 82 and 330A will automatically trigger after the next Census, leading to the redistribution of the existing 543 seats purely based on population. Take Kerala, from 20 seats today, it could drop to 14 if seats are redistributed based on projected 2027 population. The Modi Government’s proposal ensures the opposite, protecting existing representation while increasing seats. This is a clear case of gain, not loss. Watch my comments in the Lok Sabha today.

The sky is not the limit and India is reaching beyond it with the incredible talent of its Youth. Kudos to Skyroot Aerospace on becoming the first Indian private space company to launch a rocket into orbit, making India the third country after the US and China to achieve this milestone. This is just the beginning, Wishing the entire team continued success in taking India's space ambitions to greater heights. #IndiaWithVikram1

Ambassador Sergio Gor brings uncommon energy and dynamism to diplomacy, and a true belief in India-US’s limitless potential. A late-night Namma Auto ride is the real Bengaluru experience. Thank you for an inspiring conversation and for believing in our great shared future. Bengaluru is the crown jewel of the India - U.S. partnership.

If short flyovers don’t work, how exactly will a short tunnel work? Bengaluru Development Minister Shri Krishna Byre Gowda himself admitted that short flyovers only move congestion from one junction to another as seen at Silk Board to Ragigudda. So why is the State Government spending ₹1,139 crore of public money on a 2.2 Km tunnel at Hebbal that will funnel six lanes of traffic into the already congested Mekhri Circle. This isn't infrastructure planning. But a perfect example of shortsighted planning, contract distribution and headline management. People of Bengaluru deserve better urban planning.
