Three years ago I bought a brewery in Italy that was failing. I thought I had accumulated enough experience running businesses and could turn it around. Boy was I wrong :) The brewery had an old brewing system that just couldn’t produce consistent, quality beers — so I had to buy a new one (~€400k). The new brewing system couldn’t fit the warehouse we were in, so we had to find a new space and move production (~€200k). And moving production cost us an entire year of lost customers and revenue, while still paying salaries (~€200k). It’s been a journey ( and we still have a lot ahead of us) but we now make beers so good that you’ll never go back to an industrial one after trying ours.
