This claim is wrong on so many levels. 1. The RCB is marking Gyökeres. 2. The LCB is ball watching. 3. Gyökeres notices and the moment Dowman cleans his man, he begins the run behind the LCB (out of his line of vision) 4. The RCB has two options. Leave Gyökeres to run and focus on his own zone OR follow Gyökeres' run and leave his own zone. 5. This creates a scenario where both the RCB and LCB are with Gyökeres. 6. Havertz obviously sees the free space after the RCB followed Gyökeres' run and invades it. Dowman passes and goal. Video reference below. Clear as day.

Like I said, elite in possession. Bro is casually making passes like this with his weak foot under pressure while maintaining the best pass % in the UCL this season (relevant minutes played)

Literally the same play in two different games. ✅Timber receives the ball wide on the right. ✅He plays a diagonal pass into the centre from the right. ✅Eze feints and makes a run. The defender has to follow in case he receives a pass into the space he's running to. ✅Gyökeres receives in both cases. ✅In one case, Spurs don't close him down on time, and he whips a rocket from distance. In the other case, Leverkusen makes him close, so he passes. Martinelli shoots but is unlucky. Diagonal passes from wide areas to the centre = 💯

The full clip is even better. Raya gathers the ball but is frustrated that Arsenal players aren't running forward (most of them are probably tired and content with playing slow-possession footy till the game ends, which I understand.) He finally notices Gyokeres and pings the ball to him. That stretch in Forest's defence expands the space for other attackers to run into.

Watch ONLY Tzolis for this ENTIRE play and how he patiently unlocks Girona's low block through pausa/patience, technical interplay, and off-ball runs.

Like Trossard, Tzolis doesn't dribble to just get past his man... he dribbles with the next action in mind. His dribbles are meant to give him a yard to pass, cross, or shoot. To Tzolis, dribbling is a means to facilitate the next action. Dribbles are best defined by what happens after the dribble attempt. Christos Tzolis is a Productive dribbler.

They've always been anti-Arsenal since the Henry-Nedved days. This isn't new. I'm glad The Tactics Board didn't do the football tribalism rubbish and instead, stated the facts.
