BoG Accountability and Transparency Series | Time with the Governor – Part 2 How does a global shock thousands of kilometres away find its way into Ghana’s inflation outlook and monetary policy decisions? In Part 2 of Time with the Governor, students from the Department of Economics, University of Ghana, and the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) continue their conversation with Governor Johnson Pandit Asiama following their participation in the 131st MPC Meetings under the MPC Educational Observership Programme. From developments in the Strait of Hormuz and rising oil prices to foreign exchange pressures, transport costs, inflation and international reserves, the Governor explains how the MPC assesses the transmission of external shocks through the Ghanaian economy and the policy choices they present. The conversation also explores the importance of strengthening Ghana’s external buffers through reserves, exports and remittances. 🎥 Watch Part 2 of Time with the Governor under the BoG Accountability and Transparency Series. #MPCEOP #131MPC #TimeWithTheGovernor #BankofGhana #MonetaryPolicy #EconomicEducation
