At Rocksteady, we stylized almost all face proportions a little btw, were very careful to keep the camera lens higher than 50mm, and tried not to film Harley from a lower unflattering angle. The lighting artist was also a genius at adjusting feathered edge lighting to reduce harshness on her face. The minute you scan a head in and leave it untouched, it just looks weird as hell in a videogame that also has stlightly stylized bodies, clothing, and environments. We spend a lot of time critiquing Game Design, we should also be able to Critique Art Direction of a game handles heads. Also - this was Unreal 4.

Of all the videogame franchises I've worked on. There's one Fandom that I truly believe love that IP on a scale that not even Halo or Batman fans can compete with.

The PS2 era used to ask players to imagine a person. The PS5 era demands we prove one exists. I got into Character Art because of Tekken 3 and FFX, but my goal ism’t the same as the artists who inspired me. A PS2 hero took days to make. 5k polygons, two textures, no physics, no emotion. A modern one takes months. Hundrrds of thousands of polygons, dozens of 4k maps, facial rigs, cloth sims, subsurface, blendshapes, hair grooms. Artists used to guide the player’s imagination. Now we spend hundreds of millions trying to replace it.

Okay, I'm sure almost nobody knows this. In Street Fighter 3rd Strike when the announcer says "Let's Go!" when your super bar is charged - that's actually Adam West's Batman. They ripped the whole damn audio from the 1966 TV show.

All that other stuff is cool, but bragging about No Patches on old consoles tells me you never played hard enough to find a game breaking bug, infinite combo, or memory card corrupting path.

Zendaya?? Ma'am. You have spent good money to have the internet, then used it to tell strangers that this woman is not pretty. Whatever head sickness you have been afflicted with, I pray they find a cure.

I sourced the book (despite it only being printed in the 1930s) from a Library in South Africa. It's easily the rarest and most expensive book I now own. But yes, I can now confirm for myself it is not AI generated. Lil bro had the fade with the line-up nearly 100 years ago.

Can we bring it back to 2018 when Drake congratulated Kendrick for outselling him and Kendrick replied with a verse on the Black Panther album that said "Don't Congratulate Me - I Don't Like You" 😭

Reason number 1,237,345 why we question audience media literacy and attention spans. Episode 3 spent an ENTIRE scene explaining that John Stewart's stiff rapping comes from his sheltered upbringing, and this guy STILL didn't get it.

11 years later and Assassin’s Creed Unity’s Crowd Bulk System is still the best crowd system I've ever seen. NPCs near the player had 300 animation bones, acted independently, and reacted in full detail, while distant ones had 11 bones and moved in simplified groups that followed shared rules. They would blend up and down as you got closer. This sorcery along with AI scaling, kept THOUSANDS of characters moving semi-naturally, creating the illusion of living crowds without giving us garbage performance. What I would give to see this tech in more modern games, Final Fantasy towns especially.

Gotta acknowledge what preceded this. Kendrick had dropped his very conscious 2015 album 'To Pimp A Butterfly' then Drake came to Kendrick's hood to Compton to film '100' and said "I would have all of your fans if I didn't go pop and I stayed on some conscious shit". BAD MANNERS
