A Yale law professor says the insane part out loud. HEYING: "Let me just say that last line again. This is from Yale law professor Samuel Moyn. 'Part of our goal as a society is trying to make sure that children aren't the hostages of their parents as much as we rely on parents to raise them.' He does have children." WEINSTEIN: "Oh, I do not feel good for these children."

Bret Weinstein on the Jason Arday tragedy: BRET: Can I say something terrible that I think is true, but it's just awful? He was Cambridge's mascot. He was like a pet. He was like somebody they could trot out and bring to dinners and he would do tricks for them. And the point is, your pet has certain expectations, right? They were treating him in this way because he was doing something for them. And so he was reaping the rewards from doing what he had been asked to do. And I do think that's a freaking tragedy. HEATHER: I agree, that is a tragedy. I think you're right, it does sound horrible. And I think you're right — he was effectively their mascot. He was effectively their pet. But he was also a man. He was also a human being. BRET: But my point is, the men we admire get there through a route that punishes them for doing the wrong thing, for taking the shortcut, for being cowardly, whatever it is, and rewards them when they delay gratification and they invest in something and they tough it out and all of the things that turn you into a man. And if you create the developmental environment that does the inverse of this, you will get the inverse.

Bret Weinstein cuts straight to the chase: "We are going to have an endless battle in which those of us who see what we believe is clear evidence of some kind of election rigging or fraud are faced with indignation from a vast array of people portraying themselves as more rigorous and careful who say, 'Where is your evidence? Where exactly is your evidence that there was something wrong with this election?' And we are gonna be caught in the following predicament. No piece of evidence is sufficient to establish that case. And the sum total of all of the evidence contains true things and false things. So it is also no good. So the question is, can you logically deduce that something has gone wrong? I believe you can easily. Can you prove it? No. And not being able to prove it means that the election will proceed. It will be validated by all of the structures, including the courts. And that means that those who take on the power that derives from these elections will be the result of whatever process we just went through, whether it was an election that happened to be anomalous through organic means, or it was the result of some kind of fraud or election rigging. That is not an accident. That is not an accident. And the point that I wanna make primarily is the primary evidence against elections that look like this being organic is not actually in the trickle of evidence that we are actually able to see, the moment by moment vote count that does something strange during the night when some large tranche of ballots is suddenly counted or something like that. The evidence is in the structure of how the elections are actually carried out. These elections are designed to allow fraud that cannot be detected and will not be prosecuted. And that's really the thing that we must focus on." Bret Weinstein

Bret Weinstein argued that Nathan Cofnas is NOT the alternative to woke in yesterday's DarkHorse episode, "The Strange Rise of Fanaticism." Instead he sees Cofnas as the mirror image of woke, the other extreme end of the same spectrum. Today Cofnas was suspended from Ghent University, citing an investigation into discrimination.

Bret Weinstein sat down with Nathan Cofnas (a philosopher of biology and self-described race realist) on DarkHorse to discuss race, evolution, and what explains differences in intelligence. WEINSTEIN: "Let me sum this up so that the audience knows what the hell we're disagreeing over. I am not arguing that differences in capability in a language don't exist at an individual level. They're profound. I'm not saying that intelligence doesn't differ between individuals. They are profound differences. What we disagree over is what the likely explanation is for how those differences came about. And my point would be we see profound distinctions in facility and language, for example, that are clearly the result of developmental differences. I mean, the most obvious of them is that you don't grow up in China and find yourself speaking Swedish. Your facility in Chinese has everything to do with the fact that Chinese is what's in the air around you. And my point is that we are underrating — because we can measure genes and because they seem very powerful to us — we are underrating the largely still mysterious mechanisms of cultural evolution that shape the way we think, the way we communicate, the way we partner in thinking. All of those patterns are staring us in the face. They are profoundly important and likely explanatory of many of the differences that I hear you attributing to genes. And so that's where the question goes. What is the causal explanation for the distinctions you're pointing to, not whether the distinctions are real?"

Bret Weintein asks "what is this all really for?" "If you look at the push towards tokenization of assets, towards central bank digital currencies—that is programmable money that can be turned off if you displease the powers that be. If you look at the creation of these massive data centers, is that really about citizen use of AI? Maybe some of it is, but is it really about creating a storehouse of information that will allow you to be controlled and locked down? That’s certainly the impression I have. We didn’t have a discussion about any of this. This is happening, and then we have to react to it because it’s all on a freight train headed down the line… and we’re always playing defense. So it’s pretty frightening stuff. And at some level, we have a moral right to object. We’re not being given the opportunity to object..."

A 470,000-person study found sunscreen users had dramatically higher skin cancer rates and the researchers tried to explain it away. What?! Heather E Heying emphasizes, "they've got three explanations to whisk away their result and then ignore that result for the rest of their discussion, the rest of their paper is extraordinarily bad form." Dr. Bret Weinstein: "Well, it is absolutely par for the course for modern science, where there is dogma in each of the fields. You can validate the dogma, the more extreme your validation, the faster you're going to rise. And if you say anything that goes against the dogma, you have to explain it away and you have to deliver the paragraph that says we found X, but we still believe Y." The study: Jeremian et al 2023. Gene–Environment analyses in a UK biobank skin Cancer cohort identifies important SNPs in DNA repair genes that may help prognosticate disease risk. "Grief is the downside of love, and we mean that very, very literally. You love something and then it becomes enmeshed in who you are. And at the point that you lose that something, untangling it is not a simple process. Tears are basically your brain going offline to do difficult work." Bret Weinstein shares his thoughts on grief in Episode 341 of The Evolutionary Lens, "Lives Well Lived:"

"I reject the idea of gender identity." Biologist, Dr. Heather Heying shared that this is one of her foundational beliefs on a recent episode of The Evolutionary Lens on DarkHorse. She goes on to explain, "the idea that you feel like a man or feel like a woman is a fabrication. You just are a man or a woman, or if you have not yet gone through puberty, a boy or a girl. And all boys who go through puberty become men and all girls who go through puberty become women."

Evolutionary biologist, Dr. Bret Weinstein's message to the right (in response to the Yale law professor NY Times interview suggesting children shouldn't be the "hostages of their parents"): Bret Weinstein explains, "A brood of children that is the product of a monogamous relationship is genetically united much more than a brood of children that have different fathers. So from the point of view of the view of western civilization functioning the way conservatives correctly think it should function, they're leaving cards on the table that shouldn't be left on the table. These are cards that should be played. This guy in his tie with his high-minded diction is a madman. He's, I mean, or he's under the spell something and you know he might wake up from it one day. But nonetheless, the idea that rando 24 year olds who by the way are not like God-given instantiations of something, these people are the product of schools that suck and the online environment which is a battleground. So what they think they know isn't real. The idea that anything should supplant the natural alignment of children is preposterous."

Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying discuss a new paper that reconstructs NOAA data from 1,200 weather stations from over 100 years, uses a different metric than NOAA does to describe the data, and concludes that the world—or at least the coterminous U.S.—is not heating up in the way we have been told. Heather E Heying circles back to a point that was made at the opening of the episode "Sudden Flood in Tibet," on the importance of paper. "We still have the original reports that were written on with ink by people over 100 years ago. And if we were just trusting what NOAA was telling us the data were, those would be missing." Mentioned in this segment:

Bret Weinstein explains that the best way to think about Fauci after the Senate Hearing is as a made man. "Thinking of him as a made man in a mafia, whose name we don't know makes a lot more sense of what you saw. What he was effectively doing was a flex. He was sitting there and saying I don't have to answer your question, because who the hell are you? Congress? What's that?"

Biologist Dr. Heather Heying praises the recent actions of Royce White and Enes Kanter Freedom. "Some on the sort of pseudo left over in trans camp are calling this, for instance, a stunt. It's quite the opposite of a stunt. The trans thing — the part where dudes put on wigs or fake boobs or nothing at all, and say that they're women and compete against women, either because they just like to win even when they're cheating, or they actually like to beat up women if it's that kind of sport — that's the stunt. Like, you already did the stunt." Heather E Heying shares that she believes the push to enter the WNBA by White and Freedom is a "brilliant move on both of their parts."

Fauci is back in the headlines today, but his story didn't begin with Covid. Bret Weinstein connects the dots between Anthony Fauci, bioweapons and HIV in this clip from Kevin McKernan's DarkHorse appearance (published October 30th, 2024). WEINSTEIN: "I read the real Anthony Fauci, Bobby Kennedy's book, and I was stunned at how many echoes of what I knew from Covid actually came from HIV first. And I also just point out on the list of people who came to doubt the mainstream explanation for the relationship between HIV and AIDS was Luke Montagnier, who was the discoverer of HIV, won a Nobel Prize for it. So that one sticks with me in particular because for him to come to the conclusion that the virus HIV was not responsible for AIDS, the syndrome, was to suggest that his own greatest accomplishment was less significant than it had been understood to have been. So the point is he had a very strong incentive not to come to that conclusion and yet did." MCKERNAN: "Yes." WEINSTEIN: "So, yes, there is something about going back to HIV and seeing Anthony Fauci as a younger man behaving in very much the same way with the same kinds of obsessions, the same, you know, focuses on dangerous drugs, etc."

After watching the viral LA men's choir video, Heather Heying has a simple question: What are they not going to take? Heather E Heying genuinely wants to know -- "I'm not trying to be mean. I don't feel like it's a mean question. I actually really, truly wonder what it is that they think they don't yet have that they want."
