The downside of new teams building a system from foundations I like is watching more snaps to start the week, but beggars can’t be choosers and I can’t complain about that. I’ve been a Rob Leonard fan as a position coach and I think he’ll do well for himself as a DC. The Raiders probably call this Pack (QQH), and they zone off this Snug/Stack formation really well with what Minter calls “Buddy” (true 1/4’s). Nice Quarter Flat drop from #3 to let the ball bring him back down rather than the route.

Finally got around to updating and detailing the coverage library within the specific families. I would’ve given anything to have this resource when I was looking to study every single coverage concept I could find, so hopefully the decade-plus collecting and the many hours put into organizing it pays off for someone else. **Side note: please make sure your email is included or that you DM it to me so that there’s minimal waiting time while I set you up.

The more I watch the film, the more I actually feel bad for Drake Maye. This is sending your kid into a gun fight with a slingshot. Seattle re-invests their coverage resources mid-snap maybe better than anyone I’ve seen, so they basically end up 6-over-3 in coverage with the backside Safety & CB both getting involved.

Joe Brady is using man-beater concepts better than anyone right now. His mesh/pivot family and Shallow Cross family concepts are incredibly impressive, but the way he presents them is what really takes it over the top.
