Korea silences the skies for Suneung South Korea went into Suneung mode Thursday, taking extra measures to ensure smooth running of the annual College Scholastic Ability Test. The measures include pushing back the official start of the working day by 1 hour, and even grounding and forbidding landings of airplanes for the duration of the English language listening test from 1:10 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. In order to prevent any possible disturbances that could affect the exam takers, all domestic and international flights were barred from departing or landing at airports. Airplanes in transit were ordered to remain in the air at an altitude of 3 kilometers or higher. A flight tracker clip shows airplanes circling near Incheon Airport, waiting to land, while other flights were grounded on the tarmac awaiting takeoff.
