My theory on "non-binary" identities: Some women have extremely low self-esteem, which leads to them being uncomfortable with the idea of femininity. And after all, if women are supposed to be feminine beautiful, but they're not feminine & don't *feel* beautiful, they must not be women. So they reject womanhood in favor of a more neutral label. "Non-binary." Now they don't have to deal with the associations or expectations of being a woman OR a man. As someone who has struggled with self-esteem and body image, I understand the thought process and inclinations. However, being a woman or man isn't something you feel or perform. It's just what you are. Putting on a suit doesn't make you a different gender. I feel for people like Bella Ramsey, but the truth is young women not being comfortable in their own skin is nothing new or revolutionary.

Shiloh Hendrix got a disorderly conduct conviction for saying the N-word Yet I see videos like this all over social media, young men (specifically black men) recklessly endangering people by charging at them with bikes - and nothing happens Is this not disorderly conduct?

It's so interesting to me how as a society we sometimes decide that we do actually remember what a "male" is 🧐

Actress Cate Blanchett told BBC Newsnight that there is a "toxic narrative" around refugees and asylum seekers. "There's a toxic narrative around displacement which has been politicised, and part of the fund is to re-humanise and make the connection," Blanchett said. "Those people who have the great fortune to be housed, to be in nations that are free of conflict at the moment, we're being asked to be displaced from our humanity." In a second clip, she said the "DNA of the fund is to challenge that toxic narrative and to find those points of connection, and also to move beyond the stereotype that we're being spoon-fed about refugees and asylum seekers." Blanchett co-founded the Displacement Film Fund, which backs films by displaced filmmakers, and has been a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador for nearly a decade. The interview was recorded on Oct. 8, according to the on-screen label. Some social media users criticizing her remarks have pointed to her UK properties. Blanchett and her husband, Andrew Upton, reportedly bought Highwell House, a Victorian country house on about 13 acres near Crowborough, East Sussex, in 2016 for about 3 million pounds. UK press has also reported that they bought a cottage and an adjoining plot at Mawgan Porth, Cornwall, for about 1.6 million and 1.25 million pounds, and replaced the cottage with a new home.
