Around 40 Pakistani fighter aircraft were airborne, but still couldn’t stop the IAF. Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra says that during the initial strikes of Operation Sindoor, Pakistani aircraft were airborne from the Peshawar and Sargodha areas. Yet they could not react as Indian aircraft delivered their weapons and returned safely. Russia just made India an offer it has never made anyone else 🇮🇳🇷🇺 Co-development of the S-500, its most advanced air defence system, built directly into Project Sudarshan Chakra. The S-400 already proved itself in Operation Sindoor, intercepting Pakistani missiles and drones at ranges beyond 300 km. The S-500 goes further. It's built to take down hypersonic missiles and satellites in low orbit, a capability China and Pakistan don't have an answer for. For Russia, this isn't just an arms sale. Locked out of Western markets by sanctions, Moscow needs India as a manufacturing and export partner just as much as India needs the technology. If this deal goes through, India won't just be buying the S-500. It'll be co-owning it, building it, and eventually exporting it, the same script that turned the Su-30 and BrahMos into Indian platforms wearing a Russian label. Sanctions were supposed to isolate Russia. Instead, they may end up making India its most important defence partner.

He also warned of "profound consequences" for regional peace if India doesn't come to the table. Here's the actual question nobody in Islamabad wants to answer. Which international rule has Pakistan ever followed when it comes to backing terrorism against India? The same country lecturing India on treaty obligations has spent decades violating UN resolutions on cross-border terrorism without consequence. Rules apply both ways or they don't apply at all.

Chidambaram’s 1998 Parliament speech on India’s nuclear weapons is worth remembering. 🇮🇳 After Pokhran-II, he questioned the need for nuclear weaponisation, urged the government not to enter a nuclear arms race, and argued that nuclear weapons should not become weapons of war.
