I don’t think this issue will ever be resolved, paakis will never give up their part and neither will India because this can break up both countries as more territories will ask for secession. The best solution is for both to keep their own part and recognise it as part of each country and make the LOC a permanent international border.

India, as a party to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, has actually refused to implement the Security Council resolutions on this dispute, and has even refused to cooperate with the United Nations, including the good offices of the Secretary-General, and with all those mechanisms that form part of Chapter VI.
