While it’s definitely hard to win, it’s incredibly difficult to master. The World Figure 8 3-Hour Endurance Championship at the Indianapolis Speedrome. 3 Hours of nonstop crossover action, with drivers making over 800 trips through the “intersection” on average in a race. Normally $20,000 to win, and the 50th 3-Hour Championship is coming up in 2026. 24 cars start this race on the 1/5 bullring, and normally 40-50+ cars show up. As one of the starting 24 cars wreck or pull off the track, one of the drivers who didn’t start the race are then able to pull out and start the race so many laps down. Then if the guy pulls back on who pulled off, you can easily get 30+ cars on track at once.

When I tell people I come from a background of dirt late models and Outlaw Figure 8 racing, they often thing of Figure 8 racing as like a demo derby style event and not real racing. Here’s a clip of our version of Outlaw Figure 8 racing at the Speedrome, I spent years doing this before getting to the ARCA Menards Series Series.

Here is a great perspective from a front bumper camera I ran a couple years ago.

What a fever dream. This season has been absolutely demanding, mentally and physically. There have been so many points where I've just wanted to give up and throw in the towel. It seemed every time we made one step forward, we would take two steps back. The biggest thing that kept me going was the small glimpses here and there. Not many people saw them, but when things were going right, there were glimpses from within our team. We just kept saying if we could get a race to go our way, we would have a career day. Going into the dirt races we knew we would have a good run if we could just finish, but we did more than actually finish, we competed. For the first time this season, we actually felt a part of the upper-pack battle, fighting for the Lucky Dog, trading paint and throwing slide jobs. Attrition always plays a huge part of these races, but rarely are we able to benefit greatly from it. But yesterday was different. We were actually able to find ourselves in the lucky dog spot when we needed it most, got back on the lead lap and kept putting ourselves in a position to succeed. We know we'll have struggles throughout the rest of the season, we know we probably won't have another run like this all season, but for one day, for one race, we can say we felt like we competed. For us, such a small team with such a long history, to be a part of it week in and week out has been an awesome experience all year long and I'm excited to have this entire team behind me. I appreciate every single person that has been with us throughout my career and this awesome journey. It means a lot to see so much support, even through all the lows. It really does a mean a lot to me, and I appreciate it greatly. We're going up to Madison International Speedway this Friday, looking to put together some last second sponsors and help keep the good runs going. Stats/Accomplishment's from yesterdays 7th place finish (in 800+ ARCA Menards Series (Main Series Only) Races since 1984, stats only from when Wayne has fielded his own equipment): My new career best finish Best finish for Wayne Peterson Motorsports since 7th place (-14 laps) at Middle Georgia Raceway in 1984 Only his 10th lead lap finish since 1984 Only his 9th top ten finish since 1984 First lead lap finish for WPM since 2018 First lead lap finish on a track under 2.0 miles since 2015 and only his second ever Highest finishing Ford (I believe only the 2nd time the team has ever been a highest finishing manufacture) Fastest lap by a Ford

Watch the moment we found out we had just qualified for the ARCA Menards Series race at Daytona. Our guys were celebrating, other teams were coming over to celebrate, random strangers were celebrating, and even other drivers came over. We knew going in it would be a challenge to qualify for the race, so me and Alex Clubb had a plan that if I missed the show during the race I would go over the wall on a pitstop and give him a pizza or Chili's Grill & Bar, now that we are in the race, I’m going to have to find someone to give me some pizza or chicken crispers.

Realized this post never uploaded to X earlier today, so better late than never race recap. Great day at the world-famous Bristol Motor Speedway yesterday. Being my first ever time there I knew it would be a huge uphill battle. We struggled big time in practice and qualifying, made some huge adjustments, and my favorite line of the night to my crew chief Nate, “I don’t care which way you go with adjustments just make it big.” We fired off a lot better out of the gate at the drop of the green and found ourselves moving up through the field. We got in a really good rhythm and found ourselves in a 4-5 way battle for 22nd-23rd. We were at the front end of the battle when we blew a power steering line in the middle of turn one and two. That might’ve been one of the sketchiest moments of my career, just suddenly loosing power steering in the middle of the corner at Bristol is highly not recommended. I tried to go back out and just work through it, but we were leaking too much fluid and ARCA wouldn’t let us. Ultimately we finished 29th with just a couple scratches on the car here and there. Next up, we’re back to one of my favorite tracks of all time, Salem Speedway on the 20th. Huge thanks to everyone who hopped on board last night and thank you to all of our fans, supporters, and of course the entire team at Wayne Peterson Motorsports.
