CANNA COFFEE IS FACING MULTIPLE INVESTIGATIONS 🚨 READ DETAILS BELOW ⬇️ After seeing the aggressive, chilling, disturbing, and racist rant inside the DC business towards a Latino Uber Eats employee, my journalistic instinct told me something wasn’t right so I spent the day uncovering what was happening at Canna Coffee. Here’s what I discovered: 1) DC Police are investigating the owner, Greg Harris, for simple assault as a potential hate crime after he was seen screaming at a food delivery driver - Gregorio Amundarain - because he doesn’t speak English, only Spanish. 2) The DC Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration revealed that Canna Coffee was formerly known as "Mary Jay's Exotic" and was accused of illegally manufacturing, growing, and selling marijuana. A warning letter was issued back in May to the business, outlining potential consequences if it didn’t take corrective action. 3) The DC Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) conducted inspections at the shop in May and August and issued two notices of violation. While Canna Coffee is registered as an LLC, DLCP stated, "We take allegations of illegal activity seriously and are actively monitoring the situation." So clearly, an ongoing review is happening. 4) Both Uber Eats and DoorDash have banned the “restaurant” from their apps. Uber Eats even said they are DISGUSTED by the behavior. 5) Canna Coffee has been texting me in a weird way even asking for money in order to give FOX 5 DC an exclusive interview with the owner. We don’t do that. Their latest statement to me says, “HUMANS ARE CRAZY !!!” 6) Online records confirm the business is a residential property and a source told me the owner, Greg Harris, also lives inside Canna Coffee.

POLITICAL PATTIE’S SHUTTING DOWN: The owners tell me there doesn’t appear to be an appetite for a bipartisan bar in the nation’s capital. In addition, community consensus played a role in them deciding to close their door. You may remember they originally faced backlash due to the GOP elephant symbol outside their business although there was also a donkey representing democrats. Here’s my report from back in October right after they first opened ➖

CITY UNDER SIEGE 🚔🚨 So far this year, there have been more than 800 carjackings in DC compared to a little over 400 at the same time last year. Juveniles make up 66% of carjacking arrests. I sat down with Lt. Scott Dowling who is in charge of the DC Carjacking Task Force to ask about the rise in the violent crime. (FOX 5 DC)

november 18th marks 4 years at FOX 5 DC. it’s fun to take a look back at the journey and see how you got to where you are 🥹 my goal was to be an anchor and reporter in a top 10 market. i’m proud to have achieved that 🙌🏽 let it all work out 🩷 everyone’s route is different. for me, it started as a self-starter at campbell university (go camels 🐪) creating my own opportunities, then as a production assistant at ABC11 EyewitnessNews, intern at Good Morning America, getting my first on air job at whag in winchester, and becoming a reporter/fill-in anchor at wric in richmond before coming to our nation’s capital.
