On March 29, the State Council Information Office of China held a press conference in Beijing with the theme of "Promoting high-quality development." The Governor of Guangdong Province, Wang Weizhong, attended the conference and introduced #Guangdong's dedication to advancing high-quality development and spearheading Chinese modernization. "Guangdong's economic target this year is a regional GDP growth of five percent, and we are confident to achieve it," Wang Weizhong said.

To coincide with the restaging of Marco Polo, GDToday will host "An Encounter with Marco Polo", a series of events including an exhibition of Guangdong intangible cultural heritage and a panel discussion both at Guangzhou Opera House, in the hope of promoting the cultural exchange between China and Italy.
