Excuse the language but oh my god this boils our piss. What is wrong with people? This is our home 🏠 Who in the right mind thinks it’s ok to rock up to someone’s lane end in a black car and take a dump? Not sure it would be ok us taking a dump on someone’s driveway? If they had just asked they could have used the toilet. Anyway, please could either yourself or someone from Kendal calling do the decent thing and come and clean it up. I’ll share the video of the car and the reg if it makes it easier?

💥💥💥 Please share 💥💥💥 If you see a lamb like this stuck, rather than try find a farmer just quietly pop it out. If you can’t get it out then please let someone know. This is the worst time of year for it, the lambs still have small enough heads to push through and their horns are quite springy. Anyway, if you do see one, please do something about it. Thank you

6 years ago, we invested in Auto steer. It’s slowly starting to work. It does answer back, it does forget stuff and it does take a lot of feed (anything with sugar in) The next generation on a farm must learn from a young age to respect machines and understand them. I learned on a MF 135 with no power steering or door or roof or mudguards or guards in general.

A final update… We are done in with it all. I’ll leave it to Oxford Farming Conference to do what they believe is the correct thing. Personal views like that on social media should be instant resignation or told to leave before you drag others down with it. But what do we know…

Always try something new… Something we are always keen to do here is try different things. This year, we got chance of some raw chips. Ideal for finishing cattle, so we thought let’s try clamping some with the first cut. So we got 150t of chips delivered the week before we cut, to let the water drain out of them. As the silage was going in Jake was scattering them around the pit with the loadall. The theory is, it’s a way to store more starch while prices are reasonable but also adding it in to the fermentation of the silage should soften them and make them more like mash so it mixes better through the grass. Time will tell, it might be a waste of time. But if you don’t throw the dice you never know what might of happened.🍟

The last 2800m of fencing complete on the today 10k we have done. No hedge plants been bought to complete this project until we get the capital claim money and our annual mid teir money. Some saying it could be June. This isn’t a small issue, this is buisness breaking issues.

At what point is it time to just say F you. We waste so much time talking and discussing things with “empty vessels” who lie to our faces. Farmers, small business, processors… the list goes on. London 19th of sept is a start but this shit isn’t going away. The knife is in.

TB testing week. The week that you always dread, every 6 months. Unless you are involved in this you’ve no idea the background stress. Right now, we just want the last cow to walk through the crush on Friday clear. This week, i couldn’t care about anything else.
