These are 2 completely different experiences for a child When a child gets their parents undivided attention, they feel loved and important They see their parent's smiles, learn to communicate & build strong emotional bonds When a child's parents are focused on a screen, a child feels isolated and less important Their communication skills suffer, their self esteem is lower & their emotional bond to parents is weaker The good news is parents get to choose the experiences they give their child.

What kids eat for breakfast will have a massive impact on the rest of their day If kids are fed sugary, processed foods, they will struggle with focus, behaviour & over-eating If kids are fed real foods with protein & healthy fats, They will have more energy, better focus & more control over their behaviour. By cutting out "foods" like cereal, bagels, pancakes... And feeding kids real foods like eggs, yogurt, avocado... Kids will be far better equipped to have success in school, social interactions & activities.

At no other time in history were kids raised to be so incompetent I'm noticing a growing divide in the peers of my kids (ages 11 & 9) Most of the kids who get very little screen time play music, are into baking, arts & crafts, hunting etc.. They are creative, have a healthy amount of self-esteem & are capable of basic life skills While most kids with phones who get plenty of screen time seem to mostly enjoy spending time on a screen They are consumers, not creators. They are into the latest tik tok craze & use language that 11 year old probably shouldn't use And many of their parents will talk about the child's anxiety or their behaviour medications like its normal A main goal of parenting is to prepare kids for the challenges of life To raise them with a variety of skills so they are capable of success Sadly this isn't happening for the majority of kids. Parents must be more intentional with what we are exposing our kids to

The day your child gets a phone, is the day their childhood ends Phones expose kids to many harmful things such as: -Inappropriate content (p*rn, violence..) -Social media comparisons -Cyber bullying But it also steals many normal & necessary childhood experiences from them This is why so many teens & suffering from poor mental health And why many teens wish they hadn't been given a phone so early Let kids be kids & grow up without a smartphone

What kids eat for breakfast has a massive impact on the rest of their day Feeding kids a high sugar breakfast like cereal, bagels, oats & juice Will cause them to be hungrier & over-eat the rest of their day (usually more unhealthy foods) A sugary breakfast will also release more stress hormones making it harder to pay attention in school Instead feed kids a breakfast with plenty of healthy fats & protein (eggs, avocado, greek yogurt...) And help set them up for a successful day

They will become less engaged in the world around them, And more consumed by the online world. This is what the beginning of a screen addiction looks like in kids Kids need real-world, offline experiences. They need human interactions that include talking, smiling, laughing etc.. They need to touch, smells and taste things. These are all ways that kids learn. Screens consume kid's attention and takes away from these learning experiences. And screens are addictive which leads kids to only want more screens. Screens provide zero benefit for kids this age. Its up to parents to keep their childhood screen-free.
