Presti on Cason Wallace extension convos: “I think the greatest sign of respect we could’ve shown Cason is moving Lu in that trade… It’s a bit of a gesture to him to say we think you can have a great role on this team, we believe in you as a player, & we hope it can work out.”

Lu Dort says goodbye to OKC on IG along with a special video: “Dear OKC, There are no words that could ever fully express what the 405 means to me, but one thing will always be true: I'Il forever be grateful. Thank you to the Oklahoma City Thunder organization for taking a chance on a young, overlooked kid from Montreal seven years ago. To the coaching staff, thank you for pouring so much into me day after day, year after year. To this city, thank you for making this HOME - not just for me, but for my family. And to my teammates, thank you for every battle we fought together and every challenge we faced along the way. To YOU, Loud City- I will forever appreciate the relentless support. Through all the highs and lows, you never stopped believing in us as we chased the goal of bringing this city its first championship. I wouldn't trade my time here for anything. This place helped shape me into the man you see today, and I'll always carry these memories with me. I leave with nothing but the deepest sense of love, gratitude, and appreciation for everyone who made this chapter so special. With love, Luuuuuuuuu 5 out”

![Sam Presti: “I also want to take a moment to congratulate Russell [Westbrook] on just an unbelievable career. A Hall of Fame career. We are very fortunate that a lot of those years took place in Oklahoma City.” Sam says they don’t have a firm plan yet to honor Russell Westbrook, but they are working on it & want to make sure it’s done with intention. Sam Presti: “There’s no silver platters in Oklahoma City. We don’t expect to be given anything & we don’t expect to unfold favorably as some teams in some cities are accustomed to. Every year, our goal is to repeat a process, not chase an outcome.”

Sam Presti on April 20th, 2023: “The sky falls on every NBA team at least two times a year… You may play horrible for weeks, it may be a month. You don’t want to have several months… The teams that have a sophisticated competitiveness to them understand that while you’re going through that, that’s the solution. The regression is, okay you have to keep pounding through this and working through it. I think if you have the right principles, right mentality, and right temperament you can work through that and become a better player and a better team.”

Sam Presti: “The NBA is a poker game. It’s not a chess game where everybody starts with the same pieces at the same time. It’s all about the hand you have to work with. Everybody has strengths to their hand & everybody has limitations to their hand.”

Russ on staying connected with OKC: “That place raised me. I’m from LA to the core, but when I got there, those people believed in me. They took me in — my family & my friends. It’s home to me — Anything that’s happening in OKC, for the future and the growth of OKC, I will be a part of.”

Russ on what it’ll be like playing OKC in the playoffs: “I don’t know. That’s a first. That’s like home for me. I always got love for everybody there — the people, the fans. I know it’s mutual, but they also know the reason why they do love me — because I compete at a high level, and I’m going to do that every night — that’s all I can do is go out, be myself & compete. You know, try to go & steal one there.”
