Jalen Brunson is a bad iso defender (F metric grade) but the Knicks put him on bad iso players + had him show & recover instead of switching onto iso players. He switched just 10 of 64 P&Rs his man screened on that were used. 10 of the first 40, then 0 of the last 24. Los Angeles Lakers

Adou Thiero played 30 minutes in the Lakers overtime win over Miami These 5 minutes of film show you EVERYTHING notable he did. Good & bad. Offense & defense. I've annotated most clips with quick notes on what I'm seeing. A big shift from G1: he was on-ball a lot on both sides of the court. We saw a lot of attacking and facilitating as he drew help, with mixed results. It was best late in the game.

Josh Minott, known as the Lawn Mower for his energetic playing style, finally got real minutes this season and impressed. Brooklyn is expected to decline his option. LA should pursue. He's young, springy, a strong Wing Stopper, & despite wonky form is a solid 3PT shooter. A, C+, & A grade difficulty-adjusted shooting from the rim, midrange, & deep. A- Talent but F Optimization held his impact stats back. He's #4 in the NBA in Defensive Positional Versatility. A- Rim Protection, B- Help D, B+ Iso Defense, A Defensive Playmaking, A- Matchup Difficulty. Disruption and super switchy strong defense on- and off-ball, inside & outside. 📽️ If you want to have some fun 📽️

As foretold, Luka is at an NBA career high rate of splitting the defense on his ball screens so far this season! He's shooting 8/10 + 3 FTs on 11 possessions doing so. Last night he did it the most we've seen in a game. That summer work is translating.
