Britain is not being "swamped" by refugees. There are 19 European countries who take more refugees than we do. But when Conservative MPs use this hysterical language it has consequences - it riles up the far right protestors who scream abuse at terrified people. It must stop.

The Chancellor’s budget is a disaster for tenant farmers. Small family-owned farms will be hit by the changes to inheritance tax and will be forced to sell up, with young people robbed of their opportunity to farm. We’ll be fighting tooth and nail to protect family farms.

The Government will not measure the volume of sewage going into our waterways - only the duration. And guess what? The water companies are delighted. The Liberal Democrats' plans will force water companies to reveal the volume of sewage going into our rivers, lakes, and seas.

We have an agricultural policy - created by the Conservatives and maintained by Labour - to disincentivise food production. Not only will this will massively hamper our ability to feed ourselves, but it will also result in us having less farmers to deliver environmental goods.

Upland farmers who farm on common land have found themselves excluded from future agri-environment schemes because the computer software prevents their applications. This is a disaster for hill farmers, our environment, and our tourism economy. I'm fighting to get this fixed.

England is now the only country in Europe that doesn't financially support its farmers to produce food. Surely Trump's conflict in the Middle East and Putin's invasion of Ukraine show how utterly vital our food security is? The Government needs to wake up and back our farmers.
