During the scene in HOOK when Peter Pan chooses a successor before he leaves Neverland, none of the Lost Boys actors actually knew who Robin Williams would give his sword too, a secret kept strictly between Spielberg and Williams, so when Pan hands the sword over to Thud Butt, his reaction and everyone else's was genuine shock and awe. Dante Basco who played Rufio confirmed on twitter stating, "When they shot this scene, none of the Lost Boys knew who Peter was going to give the sword to!". Really cool.

When filming THE GOLDEN GIRLS, Betty White would often improv her St. Olaf stories, causing Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan to completely break character. During this taping you can actually see Bea looking off at the director because she knows she's going to lose it 😂

In 1996 when Jamiroquai filmed their VIRTUAL INSANITY music video, lead singer Jay Kay had literally no idea in which direction the floor would shift, improvising every single one of his dance moves to coincide the set. In fact, it wasn't the floor at all moving, but rather the set walls shifting in all directions with furniture locked in place and released at random times to only give the feeling that the floor was shifting. The music video went on to win the MTV Music Video Award for Breakthrough Video, Best Special Effects, Best Cinematography, and Video of the Year - and considered to be one of the greatest music videos of all time.

The SNL sketch that got Damon Wayans fired mid-season was this "Mr. Monopoly" sketch where Wayans decided before the show went live to play his cop character as flamboyantly gay. Wayans later said that Eddie Murphy previously warned him he better come up with his own sketch ideas or the other writers were going to write him as stereotypical black characters. "Everything Eddie said came true." As for why Wayans chose this particular moment to rebel, he said, "I snapped. I just did not care. I purposefully did that because I wanted [Lorne Michaels] to fire me," which host Griffin Dunne said he saw occur literally right after they all walked off stage.

When Martin Lawrence hosted SNL in 1994, he was banned from ever hosting again because he decided to do his raw standup jokes instead of the scripted monologue. It was replaced with a chyron explaining what happened when the episode aired, as you see below. I then spliced in the controversial monologue that only made it to the East Coast feed and was never seen again.

In 1989, Jim Varney and Robin Williams were caught on camera riffing with each other backstage at COMIC RELIEF III, and it's really amazing to see. The two had a known mutual respect for each other, first met crossing paths on the standup circuit, with Williams even saying that no one could keep up with him more than Varney 🔥 Two legends we lost way too soon

In 1980, Richard Pryor agreed to an interview with a Mormon high school public access station while on his lunch break from filming STIR CRAZY in Arizona, but literally none of the footage was usable for tv because Pryor was high on cocaine and let it all loose
