📌🇯🇵Report📹 One gets a sense of things heating up in #Japan, due to two factors: 1) President #Trump’s request of Japan, (which they may not be able to fulfill completely) and 2) the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to Washington, where she will have to face this issue head on.

Here is a segment of my core comments as a panelist on live Japanese TV in Tokyo last week. Although the AI-dubbed English translation uses "I directed" or "I gave instructions," the vocal track should actually say "I supported" to reflect my original Japanese. The “Singapore” is when President Trump boldly went to Asia to meet Kim Jong-un from North Korea… But listen to what sadly happened after that. This one American observation regarding President Trump was shared on ABEMA a full week before the "Pearl Harbor" fiasco. PS These other American guys on the panel had better Japanese than me; I was humbled.

VIDEO Former #Japanese #diplomat and foreign policy heavyweight Kunihiko #Miyake didn’t hold back tonight on conservative-side #BSFuji’s Prime News, delivering a scathing review of #Trump’s latest "Emergency Speech" on the Iran crisis. For those unfamiliar with Miyake, he is a seasoned "realist" who served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs across D.C., Baghdad, and Beijing before becoming a top advisor at the Canon Institute for Global Studies. His take? The Trump speech was a "strategic failure." Miyake argued that the operation began with a massive miscalculation and that the subsequent speech lacked the "dignity" typically expected from a U.S. President during wartime. He characterized the move as a desperate, premature attempt to "turn the tables" amid domestic political and economic pressure. Instead of projecting strength to stabilize markets, Miyake suggests the lackluster performance only fueled further uncertainty, likely contributing to the recent dip in stock prices. One poignant point he made was he has seen many American presidents step up and deliver addresses in bringing the country to war and they have been inspirational and compelling and he stated that Trump‘s had nothing of the sort. In the world of Japanese geopolitical analysis, #Miyake’s critique is a significant signal of growing skepticism toward current U.S. strategy. #JapanNews #Geopolitics #Trump #Miyake

@matt_vanswol A: The current generation in the United States that’s the closest to truly knowing what fascism is because of Dad or Uncle Bob going off and fighting it in Europe maybe being wounded or not coming back at all, knowing the value of tolerance and democracy as Frank sang?

I did not get rebroadcast permission from Malcolm Nance for this but here’s a good example of righteous anger. I’m hearing more and more veterans from all political stripes right center and left who are livid over this nonsense coming out of DC and the DoD… Wouldn’t you be?

7/9: TBS TV (Tokyo) reports on the pathetic POTUS tariff shakedown letter again, but also expands on the meaning of #TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out) for the #Japanese viewership. And that this may have provoked him to set August 1 as the firm drop dead date… A bit hilarious.

Good news if not interesting! #Japanese TV increasingly airing #Trump #Russian collusive connection doubts and casting more light on his credibility or possible compromise…have not seen them venture out of their timid shell on this one until the last week or so. (Just today)

My Lai Massacre Site report #1 Some kind Vietnamese took me to this location, including a wonderful private driver. And people affected by that 1968 day who are Son My area residents, (and not yet born at the time), shared their stories and pain which truly humbled me. #Vietnam
