This is the pharmacy mafia disturbing Dr Charles Lugero who together with his colleagues (one of whom is very popular here) are building a hospital near Mulago. These are literally the same mafias who grabbed that Nurses’ land and put a giant pharmacy as you head to the Mulago Hospital gate. Rules don’t apply to them. They seem to have government officials in their back pockets.

Turns out the Late Musinguzi Garuga’s wife addressed the claims made against her by their estranged son in a recent memorial service for her late husband. He didn’t attend. That dude sued the dad and teamed up with Matthew Rukikaire who had sued the dad for decades to go after his companies. She tells the story to her husband’s political activism from the UPM days to FDC and how he and Dr Besigye sold their houses to support Reform Agenda’s work and Dr Besigye’s first presidential campaign. She also calls on Ugandan leaders to invest in healthcare, saying if it wasn’t for her seeking for care in Turkey, she too could have died around the time her late husband died. When you study how Minister of the Presidency Milly Babalanda came into the RDC position and ultimately became Minister of the Presidency, the fact that she’s overseeing wanton corruption via RDCs shouldn’t surprise anyone. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga essentially admitted that she helped her lie her way to an RDC position by nominating her with the full knowledge that she didn’t meet the academic criteria set by Yoweri K Museveni. According to Ms Kadaga, she was helping a fellow Musoga. Basically, she’s a product of corruption and nepotism. She will therefore oversee corruption. Garbage in, Garbage out.

One of the greatest misfortunes that Uganda has had is that two of its most ideologically rooted post-independence, leaders, Mr Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Dr Kizza Besigye have, for the last 30 years or so, failed to figure out how to work together to build the motherland. The argument that Dr Besigye made here at the Oxford Union is still plaguing us. Kenya, with its 2010 Constitution, is moving ahead of us because they had their 2007/2008 moment and said “never again”. Must we reinvent the wheel when there’s clear recent examples from our closest East African partner?

With the level of American interest in this Michael Katungi case and the sheer power that country has, it’s very difficult to see how they don’t get their man to face American justice. I mean, they literally have dudes allover the courtroom merely observing. I imagine even Mr Katungi’s own state backers will probably be telling him to get a bit comfortable in Luzira as he prepares for an upcoming flight to the States.

Happening now: Uganda Police Force in Mbarara has just arrested this old woman alleging trespass on land for which she has letters of administration and for which a legal fight (estate issues) has been ongoing for the better part of ten years. The land is opposite the Coca-Cola plant in Mbarara. The lady is called Victoria Kabatoraine Ariau and is currently being held at CPS Mbarara. Her daughter’s phone has also been confiscated by police officers because she dared record this video. Kituuma Rusoke, surely, there’s a better way to handle this. Surely!! Also, why would land cases take more than ten years in court? #RuleOfLaw

Quite obviously this is a verifiable falsehood. Mrs Musinguzi spoke about it recently and you can find that in the video here. Please go to 1:17 mark. Mr Agaba Maguru has been part of those companies for their entire existence, according to her. He was/is a signatory to all company accounts and did this even before Mr Garuga died. It looks like their son just has a legendary sense of entitlement. Thought some of Mr Mohan Kiwanuka’s kids were quite something but this one might take the cup. Wueh! 🙆🏾♂️

Dr Besigye actually answered that question -on whether his fight with President Museveni stemmed from having loved the same lady-at the Oxford Union. He called it propaganda. He seemed to deny any past relationship between his wife and President Museveni but ultimately indicated that with or without said relationship, the issue is about daring to challenge the man’s grasp on power. He gave examples of the treatment people like Amama Mbabazi and Mr Eriya Kategaya received when they questioned it and also looped in Bobi Wine and the violence he has since suffered.
