₦6.2 BILLION RELEASED, BUT IHIAGWA to OBINZE ROAD REMAINS A NIGHTMARE In the 2025 Imo State Budget, ₦6.8billion was allocated to the Construction of the Naze (Poly Junction)–Nekede–Ihiagwa–Obinze Road. By Q2 2025, ₦2.24 billion had been released. Another ₦4 billion was released by Q3, bringing total releases to ₦6.24 billion. Yet, this road remains a nightmare. Last year, some rehabilitation work was carried out along the Naze (Poly Junction)–Nekede axis. But from Muruako Junction down to Umuchima by Lafarge Junction, only stone-base concrete was applied. From Umuchima towards Obinze, after the FUTO Main Gate, only red mud was applied, leaving the stretch in a terrible state. Even portions that have been constructed around Nekede are already deteriorating, with large potholes on the road. This is a nightmare for commuters and residents! We call on is Gov Hope Uzodimma, the Imo State Government, and Imo state ministry of works and infrastructure to provide the details of how funds disbursed to this project was used. #FixOurRoads

Dear Babajide Sanwo-Olu and The Lagos State Govt, A child’s access to emergency healthcare should never depend on having cash in hand. This disturbing account alleges that this woman had to leave her sick child and struggle to find cash because a Lagos General Hospital would not accept bank transfer or POS payment, forcing her to negotiate with a designated POS operator at an inflated charge (N600 to collect N13,000) before her child could receive attention. She was fortunate to eventually get the cash elsewhere at a better price. What happens to the next parent who cannot? In an emergency, every second matters. Lagos State’s Patient Bill of Rights guarantees patients urgent and immediate care during emergencies. We call on the The Lagos State Govt, Lagos State Health Management Agency, and relevant health authorities to investigate this allegation, review payment systems across public hospitals, and ensure that payment challenges never become a barrier to care. Healthcare first. Payment should never cost a life. Federal Ministry of Health, NIGERIA Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate Video Credit - Kayafat.Oshodi - TikTok

₦4 Billion Disbursed. So Why Is Gamboru-Ngala Road Still This Bad? From Sept 2024 to Dec 2025, over N4bn has been disbursed to the Construction of Gamboru-Ngala Road axis, Borno State. Yet, on the ground, the road remains in a deplorable state. The only visible intervention has been the dumping of red sand on some sections. An intervention that, according to road users, has further worsened the condition of the road. During the rainy season, or when a vehicle breaks down, the resulting gridlock can leave travellers stranded for days, sometimes weeks, and on occasion, close to a month, exposing travellers to serious safety risks. We call on Federal Ministry of Works, and the Borno State Gov't to provide the public with details of how the funds disbursed for this project was used and to urgently mobilise the contractor to site.

Dear Engr. David N. Umahi - fnse, fnate, The deplorable state of the Camp/Osiele Road, a critical section of the Abeokuta–Odeda–Ibadan federal highway, demands urgent attention. This road connects major institutions, businesses, and communities, yet a journey that should take 15–20 minutes can now take about an hour due to potholes and failed sections. In the 2024 FG Budget, N55m was allocated for the “Emergency Repair of Eleweran–Osiele Road.” However, as of August 2026, there is no visible evidence of repair work. We urge Federal Ministry of Works to clarify the status of the allocation and urgently intervene to restore this critical road. Citizens deserve infrastructure that works.

It beats the imagination that the Lokoja–Abuja Road has received over N2.8bn between 2022 and 2024, yet motorists and travellers are still being subjected to over 48 hours of gridlock along the Lokoja–Jema’ta corridor. We tracked the Abuja–Lokoja Road project in April 2026 and observed reconstruction works, including concrete pavement on some sections. But much of the Jema’ta–Lokoja stretch remained unattended, with construction activities later stalling. Last December, travellers were reportedly stranded for days on this same corridor. Federal Ministry of Works, this is a critical national artery. What is the status of the project, and when will Nigerians get a safe, motorable road? The government must act urgently to clear the gridlock, resume stalled works and ensure timely completion. Public funds must translate to public value. Get involved. #GetInvolved #Publicfundsmustworkforthegoodofthepeople

We tracked the Sokoto Badagry Super-Highway from both ends this month, the Lagos axis and Sokoto axis. On the Lagos end, the project is currently within Ogun State, stretching from Diya Gate, OPIC Estate, Agbara to Iyana Idoye, Lusada. Sparse work was observed at Odugbe in Lusada, Ado Odo/Ota LGA. The project terminated at Phase 4, Atan with only one side of the road under construction by Hitech Construction Company Limited. At the Sokoto end in Illela LGA, work was ongoing, bush clearing, sand filling, and site preparation. On the section towards Katami, Silame LGA, Sokoto and in Kebbi State, some portions have been completed with concrete paving and solar lighting installed. Progress is uneven and slow. Now here is what has been committed on paper, FEC has approved contracts worth N2.36tn for the highway since 2024, (N947bn for Kebbi single carriageway in August 2024, N456bn for Sokoto 120km section in October 2024 flagoff and N961bn for Kebbi second carriageway for August 2025). Just 3 days ago, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sent a fresh request to the Senate for a $516.3m loan from Deutsche Bank, the largest single external injection into this project yet. But the Minister of Works, David Nweze Umahi admitted in February 2026 that only N210.31bn, 9.7% of expected 2025 capital releases have actually been paid to contractors. Contractors across Federal Ministry of Works projects are owed N2.2tn for advanced work. Commitments on paper. The total cost of this 1,068km highway alone is projected at over N6.5tn, borrowed money, at a time when Nigeria already spends substantial part of her total revenue servicing existing debt. We urgently call on the Federal Government of Nigeria and National Assembly to; - Properly scrutinize every new loan. - Release funds owed to contractors. - Publish quarterly disbursement reports for this highways. - Scrutinise the $516.3m Deutsche Bank loan terms transparently. Citizens deserve infrastructure and fiscal accountability, not one without the other. #Publicfundsmustforthegoodofthepeople #AskQuestions

Today, we were at the Post-subsidy palliative event by Somolu LGA in Lagos, an initiative meant to cushion the effect of the petrol subsidy removal on residents. According to the Chairman, Hon Abdulhamed Salawu, 15,000 bags of foodstuff were available but only 3,200 bags were shared today and the rest will be distributed at a later date. Each bag contained rice, beans, and garri. 50k each was also given to 80 traders across Somolu. Iya Dele, one of the beneficiaries, said ‘The food items may not be much but it will go a long way because things are very hard now.’ The LGA administration said this will be a monthly event according to the availability of funds. We will keep tracking these palliative sharing exercises and provide updates to the public.
