Gaza’s markets are full of chips, chocolate, biscuits and soft drinks. Meat, eggs, dairy and fresh vegetables are almost nowhere to be found. That isn’t an accident, Palestinians say. It’s how the Israeli occupation is engineering famine a year into the ceasefire. Every truck that enters Gaza passes through crossings the occupation controls, and it decides what goes on them. Gaza’s Government Media Office says around 350 essential items are still banned, while snacks, sugary drinks and high-calorie dry goods are waved through. The Gaza Chamber of Commerce estimates that 95 percent of the goods allowed in are consumer products. Nutritionists warn that chips, instant noodles and soda can dull hunger for a few hours but cannot replace real food, and they are dangerous for young children, pregnant women and the chronically ill, who need protein and vitamins to survive. One Palestinian economist calls it a policy of keeping Gaza’s head just above water: hungry enough to break, fed enough to avoid mass death on camera. Under the ceasefire, Israel promised 600 trucks a day. The real average is around 200, and this week an Israeli official claimed 250 were enough. Now the World Food Programme has cut food aid for half a million people for lack of funding, just as winter arrives, leaving 1.4 million Palestinians, two-thirds of Gaza, facing crisis levels of hunger with shelves stocked with snacks they cannot live on. #EngineeringFamine

With no ambulance and no car to carry him, his brother lifted him onto his shoulders and walked. Tamer Shadi Subh, a schoolboy, was shot dead by the Israeli occupation army on Sunday in the Tal Al-Dhahab area of Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza. Three years of genocide have left families without even a way to bring their dead to the hospital. Gaza’s Ministry of Education mourned Tamer as the third schoolchild killed by the Israeli occupation in less than 24 hours, after Mohammed Riyad Abu Hammad and little Misk Hazem Al-Dalu, who was shot when Israeli forces opened fire on displaced families’ tents in Al-Maghazi camp. The ministry warned that the road to school in Gaza has become a road to death, and called on the UN and UNICEF to act to protect Gaza’s students. Five Palestinians were killed across Gaza on Sunday, two of them children, and the death toll since the ceasefire has now passed 1,511. SOURCE: bilal.f0ad - mokhy3m

Ten-year-old Palestinian girl Sarah Al-Bursh has defied all odds and learned to eat, drink, and write using her feet after losing both arms in an Israeli airstrike that targeted her home in northern Gaza. With the care of her loving mother, she was able to slowly regain a sense of independence, adapting to a life she was forced into by Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza. Sarah is one of thousands of amputated children in the Gaza Strip, most of whom are left without access to any treatment as Israel continues to block the entry of more field hospitals, medical delegations, and lifesaving supplies. BREAKING | Three-year-old Maryam Ahmed Ghanem was asleep when an Israeli occupation strike hit her family’s apartment near the Abu Talal junction in Al-Rimal, west Gaza City, at around 4am on Wednesday. Journalist Ali Al-Jaafarawi ran to the building after hearing the blast. When he climbed up to the burning apartment, the first thing he found was Maryam, crying in the middle of the flames, with the fire and smoke too thick for anyone to reach her. He went in anyway, carried her out and handed her to people waiting to rush her to hospital. When he went back inside to look for others, the smoke overwhelmed him and he lost consciousness, but not before he saw a woman burning inside the apartment .That woman was Maryam’s mother, in her thirties, killed in the strike. Her father was killed at the start of the genocide. Maryam survived the fire, and she is now an orphan. Others in the apartment, including children, were wounded, and civil defence crews struggled to evacuate them, all of it a year into a ceasefire that was supposed to stop exactly this. ali.a.aljafarawi2 (IG)

“I want to go to my mom,” three-year-old Maryam Ahmed Ghanem says from her hospital bed, pointing to her bandaged hand. Her grandfather explains what happened. Maryam and her mother lived in a single room inside an apartment in Gaza City, and at around 4am on Wednesday, the Israeli occupation struck that room. Her mother, Reem, was killed, burned in front of her daughter. Maryam was pulled out alive with burns her grandfather says are second- and third-degree. Her father was killed early in the genocide, before she was even born, while she was still in her mother’s womb. “She grew up in her mother’s arms,” he says. “What did she, her mother or all these children do wrong?” He says the bombing eased for a while after the ceasefire, but the Israeli occupation army still assassinates and bombs, the siege still holds, and prices are still out of reach. “So many children, so many women, so many people died for nothing.” Maryam has now lost both her parents before turning four. قناة الوطن Alwtan TV

🩷“Sugar? What do I need sugar for when I have you?” said freed Palestinian hostage Ahmad, kneeling to embrace and kiss his mother after nearly two years in Israeli occupation prisons. She had brought him chocolate, worried about his sugar levels after hearing of the starvation and abuse detainees faced inside the camps. Ahmad’s mother got her son back today, but she is only one among thousands of Palestinian mothers still waiting hoping for the day they too will see their children freed from Israel’s torture camps. “I’m the man of the house.” A little boy in Gaza explains to his father why he shouted at his mother that morning: he saw her carrying water again. Her hand is broken, he says, from carrying his baby brother and lugging heavy water containers day after day, and whenever the water arrives, he yells at her to stop so he can carry it himself. In Gaza, where the Israeli occupation destroyed water networks and wells and families queue at distribution points to fill whatever containers they have, hauling water is part of every day. It falls on mothers, on fathers, and on children far too small for it. This one has decided his mother has carried enough. “May God bless you this morning, son,” his father tells him. “There will be no real men left after you.” doqmosh1 (IG)

🚨Dr. Mohammed Abu Lahia revealed that journalist Saleh al-Jaafarawi was kidnapped, brutally beaten, and executed by collaborators working with the Israeli occupation. In his message mourning his friend, Dr. Abu Lahia said that Saleh had confided in him before his death that he was being hunted by these collaborators and feared they would eventually kill him. “They betrayed you, just like you told me they would,” he wrote. “You said, ‘If I don’t die by the occupation, I’ll die at the hands of the collaborators’, and that’s exactly what happened.” mohammed.lehia (IG)

❗️A Palestinian child and his father, Fadel Abu Alya, were detained by the Israeli occupation forces after the occupation declared the village of Al-Mughayir, northeast of Ramallah, a closed military zone for 48 hours. Occupation soldiers closed the village’s only entrance, cutting off residents from leaving or returning. A group of soldiers then seized a home in the village, forcibly evacuating its residents and turning it into a military outpost. Meanwhile, an occupation military bulldozer stormed the village center as forces tightened their control over the area. Israeli occupation troops also distributed threatening leaflets, claiming residents were “obstructing security” or “cooperating with hostile parties.” Source: Telegram sawtalmughayyir

Israeli civilians were invited to Israeli torture camps to watch nude Palestinians get searched and raped, according to the testimonies of Palestinian women released by the IOF. Both female and male Israeli soldiers raped Palestinian women from Gaza and the West Bank. The testimonies were presented during the UN Commission of Inquiry’s public hearing on March 11, 2025. Kifaya Khraim, International Advocacy Officer at the Women’s Centre for Legal Aid and Counseling, and Witness #3, a Palestinian woman human rights defender, provided detailed accounts of sexual, reproductive, and other forms of gender-based violence committed by Israeli security forces and settlers. This was part of the Commission's third round of hearings to document violations against Palestinians, with a focus on crimes targeting women’s bodies. Source:

🚨Forty-eight hours after his initial appeal, Dr. Ahmad al-Farra, head of pediatrics and obstetrics at Nasser Medical Complex, is once again urgently calling for the entry of premature formula milk and all other types of formula into Gaza. “The situation is very critical,” he said, as every infant in the neonatal ICU is now fully dependent on this specific type of milk, which is nearly depleted. Only 24 to 48 hours of supply remain. Despite repeated warnings, not a single can of premature formula has been allowed in. The Israeli occupation blockade continues to choke off even the most essential nutrition for Gaza’s most fragile newborns. Dr. al-Farra is calling on UNICEF, WHO, and international agencies to act immediately before more infants die from hunger. Source: samer.alboji (IG)

A freed Palestinian woman from Gaza was raped her four times in a single week by Israeli prison guards, according to lawyer Khaled Mahajna of the Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs, who relays her testimony. He says more than five or six guards took turns, against a woman who was helpless and unable to defend herself. Mahajna, one of the few lawyers able to visit Palestinian hostages, describes male guards storming women’s cells at night, pulling off their headscarves, and blackmailing them over private matters, details he says are too painful to repeat. Around 90 Palestinian women are being held hostage in Israeli prisons today, from the West Bank, Jerusalem and the lands occupied in 1948, and most of them are in administrative detention without charge or trial. All the women from Gaza have since been freed in exchange deals, but with the situation in Gaza today, he warns, anyone could be taken again. Her account is one of many. The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights has documented testimonies from freed Gaza detainees, both women and men, describing r*pe, forced nudity, sexual a**ult with objects and dogs, and electric shocks, which it says amount to a systematic policy rather than isolated incidents. Freed Palestinian journalist Ramez Awad, from the village of Jifna north of Ramallah, describes his 24 months inside Israeli occupation prisons as living in a graveyard of the living, saying the cell was a moving coffin. He carried out a message he had promised the hostages still inside the Negev prison to deliver: that they sleep hungry, sleep crying, sleep wronged, their bodies covered in the marks of beatings with no one to treat them, without clothes, food, water, a usable toilet or any means of keeping clean. On his first day home he sat down to a plate of rice measured out so nothing would be wasted, and found himself crying into it, unable to eat while the men he left behind were starving. He says the one thing he gained there was reading the Quran nearly 21 times and learning patience from the men around him. The conditions he describes are documented: Palestinian rights groups put the number of hostages held by the occupation at more than 9,600 as of April 2026, over 3,500 of them in administrative detention without charge or trial, and record 89 known deaths in custody since October 2023, bringing the total since 1967 to 326, with dozens more from Gaza whose fate the occupation refuses to disclose. B'Tselem describes the prison system as one of organised torture, and Physicians for Human Rights-Israel found autopsy evidence of beatings, rib fractures, untreated infections and severe malnutrition. The Negev prison in particular has been named repeatedly in testimonies of deliberate starvation and medical neglect. Al Jazeera PR

"Today, the blood of Christians and Muslims is mixed together in one scene," said Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for Gaza's Civil Defence, after an Israeli occupation airstrike before dawn on Saturday hit an inhabited apartment in the Al-Asala building in western Gaza City, killing five Palestinians, four of them women. Among them were Mary Hafez Abu Dawood and her daughter Maysaa, members of Gaza's Christian community, along with Dr. Yasmin Al-Bobo, her mother Hloum, and a young man, Bilal Khalil Odeh. Mary and Maysaa were buried from the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Porphyrius, the same church the Israeli occupation army bombed in October 2023, killing 18 displaced people sheltering inside. Basal said he still remembers his crews pulling bodies from its rubble. Speaking at the funeral, he called the strike a crime and said no one has the right to hold a death sentence over any civilian in Gaza. The killings come a year into a ceasefire the Israeli occupation has never stopped violating. At least 30 Palestinian Christians have been killed in Gaza since the genocide began. mahmoud_basal88 (IG)

Tortured to the point that he can no longer remember his own name, an elderly Palestinian man was found near the "Yellow Line" in Gaza, reportedly named Mohammed Habib. He was released by Israeli occupation forces and handed over to the Civil Defense, arriving at Nasser Medical Complex from the Qizan al-Najjar area with his hands and feet still restrained. Hospital staff say his body shows clear signs of torture. He is exhausted, his memory fading, unable to tell anyone what was done to him. The hospital is still trying to find his family, and no one yet knows his full story, only that the occupation returned him broken and unable to account for his own name. _doaa_mohammad (IG)
