#PursuitOfJade Ep 26 closing cut: I know, I know... this is where everything goes sideways. Of course, Chang Yu discovers Yan Zheng is the Marquis of Wu'an in the most devastating way possible. But can we talk about this scene? It's pure cinema. The choreography is breathtaking, her tears gut-wrenching, and he sweeps her onto his horse mid-battle. That's how you layer complex emotions- action and heartbreak colliding at full force. ZLH's Weibo post says it perfectly: "Whether I am Yan Zheng or Xie Zheng, my heart toward Chang Yu has never been false." But Xie Zheng has plenty to apologize and explain for, that's for sure.

#PursuitOfJade I really love the word choice here in Ep 19 - even though the English translation isn't wrong, it doesn't fully capture the cultural nuance. He said: 我娶你好不好 Culturally, this implies "Will you become my wife and join my family?" This is such a meaningful contrast to their contract marriage, where he was the one marrying into her family. The shift in language says everything about how his feelings- and their dynamic- have evolved. And this connects so well to something in episode 15. When Xie Zheng tells his friend Sun that he doesn't want the two sisters to suffer if they follow him, Sun advises him that what he really needs is a strong woman to be the matriarch of his family. Again, the cultural context is key here: it reinforces the idea that she would become part of his household and lead its domestic affairs. It's not just about love - it's about belonging, protection, and respect.

#PursuitOfJade Ep 27 will definitely remain a favourite of mine. While Chang Yu's anger toward Xie Zheng was completely justified, he came clean and genuinely groveled. I loved that he proposed again- this time as his true self, with nothing hidden. I know some might wonder why Chang Yu forgave him so quickly. Here's why: regardless of his name or title, Xie Zheng has always been sincere in how he treated her. Deep down, she knew that the bond they shared- every high and low- was him, through and through. That title was never a privilege; it was a burden. And his hesitation to tell her came from knowing, as this episode made clear, that it would become her burden too. I also appreciated that he considered asking his mentor to make her a goddaughter. You have to understand the social hierarchy of that era- nobility rarely married commoners. Concubines, yes. Official wives, no. He didn't care about any of that, but he understood that she might. And she did- right up until they physically fought it out and had that raw, honest conversation by the river. And then came that moment- when he spoke of how fondly he remembered his time in Lin'an with her, how happy it made him. That truly reached her. Because what mattered most to Chang Yu was that he loved her home and her people the way she did. (my tears fell here too 🥹) This is why this show has been so consistently good from the start. The characters always have these gentle, meaningful conversations. It's okay to get angry- but in the end, what matters is that you talk it through.

My sweetie here is a late bloomer but I have always kept faith that people will see his potential. I liked what this kblogger said that when you see him in TJFH , he feels familiar but yet you might think he's a newcomer. Seems like a rookie but surprised that he's good in acting. If you check his filmography you'd realise he's been acting for more than a decade. JY mentioned that he wasn't sure what to do while in school but he did have a dream of being a chef especially because he helped mum out at home. His father suggested modeling after he was done with military service . He mentioned in an interview he had to shed off 30kg through diet & exercise as he weighed over 100kg .Esteem Academy signed him & he debut as a model in 2010. He got casted in a TVN survival program "Flower Boy Casting". From there, he was inspired to act and landed his 1st supporting role in the movie "No Breathing". (starring SeoInGuk & LeeJongSuk.) If you want to see a young JY in swimwear 😁, you can check him out there. The movie didn't quite make a splash (pun unintended 😁) , and JY who had actually left Esteem to pursue acting, found himself jobless for at least over a year. He auditioned for BladeMan (LeeDongWook & Shin SeKyung's drama) and got casted for a small role. Esteem reached out to him again & he signed with them again to model. He later also joined HB Entertainment for acting jobs, and was with them for a long time. Last year (2023) he left HB and joined his long time manager who had established a new agency, Management S. After Blademan , JY had several supporting roles but his 1st main cast role was in OCN's My Secret Romance. He was the 2nd lead & that was also my first JY drama. While I didn't have SLS, he was such a sweetheart there and caught my attention. My massive crush began when he acted as MooYeon in #100DaysMyPrince as an assassin and the FL's brother. He also had a forbidden love line with the 2ndFL's char played by HanSoHee , and they had great chemie despite limited scenes. I cried my eyes out watching their tragic love story. This is the year (2018) I decided I'll stan this man ☺️😂 His role there opened many doors. He had a short TV series called Dear My Room ( was on the now defunct Olive TV) where he played the romantic ML against Ryoo Hye Young's character. It was one of those friends to lovers trope and I recommend this for a sweet fluffy watch. He also sang the OST with RHY. The big year came in 2019 when he was casted as the ML , Sun Woo in #SecretBoutique, a female centric drama starring KimSunA and GoMinSi . He had a meaty role here as a prosecutor - a bit of a grey character and was somewhat like a brother to the FL (KimSunA) and he had some nice fight scenes. His body was the best here 🔥😋😁. If you don't mind a heavy melodrama, this wasn't bad. And oh boy, was I shipping him hard with GoMinSi's character. I still hope they can reunite for another show & give me closure. 2019-2020 was when I watched a KBS weekender #BeautifulLoveWonderfulLife from start to finish ( raw and with subs - yes my level of dedication surprised me) because JY got casted as Jun Hwi, the ML against another actress I love , Seol In Ah. Gosh, this drama was an emotional roller coaster and was another heavy character. The premise of the story was so sad and the leads went through so much together but I love this show though. He had good chemie with SIA. He also won a KBS acting award here. I recommend this if you can do 50eps and love angst like I do 😂 The role took its toll on JY. He mentioned he needed to take a break but then found himself without work for at least 6-7 months ( if I remember correctly) . Boy, did I miss him. It was really only in an Elle pictorial with his good friend -actor, model and famous youtuber Joo WooJae that I found out he had been having a hard time. He has appeared on WooJae's YT channel several times - they even travel together. JY's come back drama was in #ReflectionOfYou (2021), another heavy melo as the ML who was caught in an emotional tug of war between 2 women played by GoHyunJung and ShinHyunBeen. As WooJae, KJY gave some of his best acting. I know he got a lot of hate 😵💫🤣because WooJae was just so obssessed / in love with GHJ's character that he was willing to throw it all for her. This drama is not for the faint hearted but the acting was superb all round - even if the plot would make you uncomfortable. He was so hot here too. JY with longish hair was a dream. In 2022, he was the 2ndML , as KangHaeJin in #LoveInContract. It was so nice to see him play a diva actor and do rom-com for the 1st time. This is a fun watch. While I don't think viewers would have SLS, JY's character wasn't one dimensional either and he had his own storyline despite not being the ML. In 2022 - 2023 he voiced an audio drama , "For Sale - I Broke Up" with Yoon So Hee - but I don't know how we can listen to it internationally (though I do have some vids I would post one day). He also filmed a drama called "We Will Replace The Trip" with Gong SeungYeon, but so far no news of it airing yet. JaeYoung here is shy and unassuming. He's MBTI is INFP. You can see from his interviews he's quite easygoing and humorous. On my highlights- I have subbed some of his videos for TJFH. JY says he still dreams of being a chef and has gone to a 6-month cooking course last year. He also hopes to be able to take on warmer roles going forward.

#UndercoverMissHong #UndercoverMissHongEp8 Doom Ship Analysis – let’s be real, there may not be a decent ending for this 😂🤡 So far, the one thing tying Geum Bo and Jung Woo together is their similar mission: to bring down Hanmin Securities. But that’s where the similarities end- their motives and methods couldn’t be more different. Geum Bo is walking the straight and narrow. Her drive comes from a place of moral clarity: expose the corruption and get justice for her mentor. Even when she takes risks, she stays principled. Jung Woo, on the other hand, operates in the shadows. While he also wants to destroy the company, his motives as shown thus far feels deeply personal- fueled by private revenge and self-interest. The show is killing me 😅with how slowly it reveals his backstory! Each week’s new clue about his true intentions is equal parts intriguing and frustrating.

I don't know what possessed me to start #TheEpochOfMiyu, but it's addictive in a blood-pressure-raising, hair-pulling way. LMAO. Yes, I have a soft spot for #WallaceChung (despite his last drama making me throw things). This isn't fluffy idol romance- it's a slow burn that requires patience for character development. Newer gen of viewers might already hate the FL Miyu played by #ZhuZhu . She's too nice, gets taken advantage of, and can't stand up for herself. Early episodes had me screaming internally as she: 1) Discovered her husband's infidelity 2) Got screwed in a divorce she could've won (receipts, people!) 3) Became a hotel cleaner after giving up her career for 10 years And by the end of ep5 ? She'll likely be colleagues with his pregnant new wife (the affair partner). This drama will make you thankful you never gave up your financial independence for a scumbag. Remember keep your jobs, girls. Where does Ji Feng (Wallace) come in? As GM of the hotel where Miyu's anniversary happened, he helped cover up her husband's affair- because the husband was a high-value client. Now Ji Feng returns to Shanghai to run the same hotel where Miyu cleans rooms. Their first interaction (her cleaning his room) is wonderfully awkward- she gives him a piece of his mind. 😁 But surprisingly the chemie is quite good. Bottom line: This drama will rile you up, but you'll root for Miyu to rise from the ashes and get revenge. Plus, the behind-the-scenes hotel operations feel surprisingly realistic. Recommend if: You like slow burns, flawed heroines, and don't mind yelling at your screen.

Bless the kind soul who compiled NanHeng’s 39 outfits - this was basically a #LiuYuNing fashion show! Very few play historical warlords as flawlessly as he does. Since May, I’ve been absolutely spoiled, watching 3 of his costume dramas back-to-back: The Prisoner of Beauty, Eternal Brotherhood (Dilin is seriously 🔥), and #ADreamWithinADream. The sheer charisma is unreal. Gonna miss him in one since I think he's focusing on music for now 🥲 Vid cr:

#PerfectMatch #LiangYongqi #KeYing This arc wrapped up in the best way possible. Think his mentor underestimated SHZ by trying to use his cousin's case to bring him down. SHZ is no fool and had already made some investigations and long story short was able to counter attack with a trap of his own. And when the adversity was resolved, he immediately went to get HaoDe from the teahouse and this second wedding was the sweetest gift he could give her, something she deserved. Writing wise their love story felt the most organic and complete, and resonates with me the most. With SHZ you could see the evolution of his feelings in his eyes (props to LYQ's acting) - it started cold & calculated and slowly it softened and became tender and affectionate. Haode - who initially lived under the shadow of her sisters blossomed as she navigated marriage with an unwilling husband. It was her sincerity and kindness that finally won him over. I know the story shifts to 5th sister's love line and we will see a lot less of them. I am a little reluctant to let them go. 🥹 #五福临门 BTS vid cr to this CP's wb
