I really want to believe Maritime Cadets no longer work on ships, but instead constitute themselves as a nuisance on our roads. The militarisation of almost every sector has become ridiculous. Now even students of an institution are cosplaying as military personnel and disrupting traffic. I’ll be waiting for their representative to come and explain the connection between studying maritime operations, working on ships, and stopping the flow of traffic on public roads.

This is exactly what I’m talking about. The driver may have been completely wrong, but that does not give a Road Safety Officer the excuse to recklessly endanger the lives of everyone else on the road, including himself. Law enforcement is not supposed to become a greater danger than the offence being punished. If the very people responsible for road safety are creating situations that could cause serious crashes or deaths, then that is not enforcement. It is gross irresponsibility and a failure of professionalism. There must be accountability. Officers should not be allowed to hide behind the authority of their uniforms when their conduct puts lives at risk. Every reckless enforcement action should be investigated, and where an officer is found to have acted improperly, there should be consequences. Road safety must mean safety for everyone.

On this day i nearly died, i ran and kept running, changing the position of my rifle every 5 minutes (left hand, right hand, slung behind, slung in front, across my shoulders etc) yet the finish line wasn't in sight. The army will make you do wonders 30km is not 3km
