We cannot overlook what is wrong simply because we support Linda Mwananchi. We must have the maturity to speak up when something is wrong and not become blind followers. The convoy situation was a mistake. If there is a better way to conduct these convoys without inconveniencing or endangering other road users, then it should be adopted. The last time I saw the convoy, there was a serious accident where a car rolled over, and there were also reports of someone being knocked by one of the vehicles. This cannot be ignored. Linda Mwananchi must do better. The movement should be about the people, and that includes respecting the safety and convenience of everyone using our roads.

It was sad seeing most bodaboda riders driving on the wrong side of the road in the Nairobi CBD, putting their own lives, their passengers, and other road users at risk. This is what I personally witnessed this evening. Enforcement will now be firm and uncompromising to restore order, discipline, and safety for everyone.

IMPUNITY AND IGNORANCE OF THE EXISTING LAWS!!. It is deeply concerning to see so many pedestrians choosing to cross busy roads at unsafe points instead of using the footbridges provided for their safety. This risky behavior continues to result in avoidable accidents, injuries, and even loss of life. Today along Mombasa Road, I witnessed several people ignoring a nearby footbridge and opting for a dangerous shortcut across the highway. While it may seem faster or more convenient in the moment, the consequences can be devastating. Footbridges are constructed specifically to protect lives, and using them should not be optional but a shared responsibility. We shall deploy our officers to arrest anyone who is found in violation of the law, especially those who avoid using the flyovers and instead opt to risk their lives by competing with vehicles an act that often leads to unnecessary accidents and loss of lives. Road safety is a collective effort drivers, pedestrians, and authorities all have a role to play. There is a need for increased public awareness, stricter enforcement of traffic rules, and a mindset shift among pedestrians to prioritize safety over convenience. No shortcut is worth risking a life. Let us all choose to be more responsible and encourage others to do the same.

This is exactly what happens when both the government and drivers are equally reckless. Stop bragging about E20 fuel and EV revolutions when the basics aren’t even in place. At least half the people on the road don’t even know what hydroplaning is, and countless lives are being wasted just because of this criminal negligence. First fix the damn flyovers, improve road designs, and enforce a proper guidance system. The moment someone buys a bike or car, there must be a mandatory one-hour safety briefing. How many more deaths will it take for the government to wake up? Safety should come first everything else is secondary! 🙏🏻

The Construction Work of the Metro Railway near Kaikhali on the VIP Road for the Airport-New Garia Orange Line Metro Route has been going on for quite some time now. Thousands, if not lakhs of vehicles ply on this road regularly. I have two questions for the Bidhannagar Police:- a) If the Construction Work is unsafe then why have your Traffic Department not made adequate arrangements earlier for the safety of the Public and allowed them to risk their lives by traveling on that 'dangerous' stretch of road? He blatantly disobeyed law enforcement orders to remain off federal property. Does the The Oregonian plan to also report on this individual yelling he “hopes somebody kills you guys and if they do, we should give them the medal of freedom” to our law enforcement? Anytime anyone in law enforcement abuses their authority, there’s an investigation, and if they acted improperly, there are consequences. ICE is the only major law enforcement agency where it has become a consequence-free zone.
