Every year during the Soora Samharam festival at Tirupparankundram, Sanskrit slokas describing the events are recited, followed by their explanations in Tamil. Thousands of devotees from the surrounding villages listen with deep bhakti, seeing no divide between Sanskrit and Tamil. To them, both are sacred languages.
