Yamamoto Drill Progression 🧵⬇️ Yoshi has become the talk of Major League Baseball since signing with the Dodgers this off-season (rightfully so - he’s a freak). He does an incredible job of creating momentum down the mound, all while setting up his pelvis to rotate and block into FFS. If you’re a guy who struggles to do any or all of the things above, try this progression! 1️⃣ Javelin Lasso Variation: perfect to preset the pelvis in a position to block. Allows you to pull the arm into release using the spine and pec. 2️⃣ Abbreviated AA Roll-In: added momentum with the same benefits of the javelin lasso. 3️⃣4️⃣5️⃣ Yamamoto Walking Wind-Up (Abbreviated AA/Normal/Overhead): Abbreviated AA eliminates the arm swing (less things to screw up). The impulse of the overhead compresses the gloveside portion of your rib cage (delays lateral tilt - momentum killer). Slide Step vs. Leg Kick: IMO, the slide step makes it way easier to drift, hinge, and rotate behind the lead leg. As I step in, I try to feel the front hip stay open and then ride the slope sideways before catching the hinge into rotation. The leg kick can be added in once the slide step has been mastered. David Hess (David Hess) put on a helluva showing considering all of the trials and tribulations he has endured over the last 4-5 years. I've only known David for a short 5 months, but it's pretty easy to see why this guy is so liked and why cancer never really had a shot against him. Stuff wise, he averaged over 1mph higher than his 2025 in game average (and .2 higher than his debut season in 2018), T93 inside (huge deal), and showcased two different breaking balls. Didn't get the chance to show off the sinker or changeup, but they're there and dominant. A true competitor and strike thrower that deserves another shot in affiliate ball.

RHP - Art Warren (Art Warren) is starting to look like the ‘21 version of himself again - an absolute psycho. Back to sitting mid 90s with elite cut ride from a low release height. He pairs it with two dominant breaking balls (gyro SL & SW). Still working on the SP but is flashing some promise.

Tread Athletics Pro Day Recap Part 3: Jace Vines Jace's progression has been fun to watch. Has always been an electric arm, running it up to 99 in previous seasons. However, after a few years in a row of inconsistent stuff and results (mainly due to arm health), we went into the offseason with the goal of a cleaner unwind of the arm. Jace worked a ton on getting on plane and as a result has dropped his slot to what you see below ⬇️ We're still refining a few things but popping 95 with 4 pitches grading out > 112 Stuff+ is a great place to be in January. Data in the thread ⬇️

Tread Athletics Pro Day Recap Part 1: Jacob Faria (Jacob Faria) Absolutely filled up the zone while creating some extremely steep angles from his 6.5 ft release height. This puts him in a great spot to induce a ton of groundballs (43.3% in 2023 - CB and SPL > 55%) SPL continues to rack up whiffs: 42.4% in 2023 (40.1% since 2017 debut) Data in the thread below shows a sick 💎 plot
