𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗠𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮

I dream about the ocean every night, but I haven’t lived by the ocean for 20 years. I use to be a hard core snowboarder, I’ve only gone snowboarding twice in the past 18 years. I use to kite board, surf and wakeboard- this year was the first time in 20 years I was on a wakeboard. My entire life I said I was going to live in San Clemente California, I currently reside in a state where ever summer turns into Satan’s sauna, and the bugs try to kill me- no joke- I have allergic reactions to Asian needle ants that are absolutely miserable. I gave birth to two children that hate everything I love, they hate the feeling of sand, they hate being cold, they hate heights. I haven’t lost who I am in having children, and making choices to raise them in the best environment possible, I’ve evolved, and it’s freaking amazing. None of the above is remotely a sacrifice because being a mom is so much better than all of the above. Someday these kids are going to leave my house and I will be crushed- I can try to fill the void by going back to those things I once did, but that’s a pathetic substitute for the joy of having them with me every single day.
