New footage shows the moment the bus came off the mini roundabout in Hayes, clipping a man crossing the road before going into the building. Somehow, the man got up and walked away. The bus carried on across the pavement and didn’t stop until it hit the wall outside the station. One account from the scene says the driver’s brakes failed and he steered trying to avoid people in the road. That’s still unverified, and there’s no official word yet on the cause or on any injuries. How that man walked off is beyond us. Fair play to the bloke who stepped in, though it’s worth saying nobody should feel they have to. People carry things and shop staff are told not to intervene for exactly that reason. A man planted himself in front of a green Audi on The Quadrant in Richmond and simply refused to let it leave. The driver tried waiting. Tried a full three-point turn. The man just relocated. A follow-up that’s raising questions in Harrow… After two enforcement officers were filmed threatening a man in footage that went viral, Harrow Council said it had taken the matter seriously and that both officers no longer worked for its contractor, Kingdom. One of the Harrow enforcement officers at the centre of recent footage has spoken out for the first time. In a video, Joseph Fernandes says he’s breaking his silence to respond to what he calls inaccurate and misleading claims made about him and his colleague, both about the incident and about their personal lives. He rejects claims about his background, stating that he is a British citizen, and says reports about where he lives are false. He says a journalist approached him before an article was published and he was given a chance to comment, but he believes much of what was reported doesn’t reflect what happened. He says he’ll give his account of the incident itself in a follow-up video.
