CCTV pieced together from that Sunday morning shows James at the door of a Hayes home with a knife at 7:42am, moving through nearby streets at 7:50am where he passed within yards of a member of the public, and exiting a first-floor window at 7:53am before walking down Uxbridge Road. At 7:55am, police were called to a property where Kirandeep, 24, was found with stab injuries. She died at the scene. A man in his 20s was also injured. Officers tasered and arrested James minutes later. Kirandeep had come from Piddi village in Punjab two years earlier, finished her studies and just started working. One of the Harrow enforcement officers at the centre of recent footage has spoken out for the first time. In a video, Joseph Fernandes says he’s breaking his silence to respond to what he calls inaccurate and misleading claims made about him and his colleague, both about the incident and about their personal lives. He rejects claims about his background, stating that he is a British citizen, and says reports about where he lives are false. He says a journalist approached him before an article was published and he was given a chance to comment, but he believes much of what was reported doesn’t reflect what happened. He says he’ll give his account of the incident itself in a follow-up video. A follow-up that’s raising questions in Harrow… After two enforcement officers were filmed threatening a man in footage that went viral, Harrow Council said it had taken the matter seriously and that both officers no longer worked for its contractor, Kingdom. Hammersmith & Fulham Council and Crimestoppers have launched a public appeal to identify a man caught on CCTV spray-painting the phrase “I FARTED IN YOGA” onto a hoarding on Uxbridge Road in Shepherds Bush on Saturday 2 May 2026. The CCTV footage, released by the council as part of the appeal, shows the man writing the phrase in large capital letters complete with a copyright symbol, before stepping back to admire his work and adding a crude cartoon ghost next to it. He then stood casually by a public bin, vaping, while members of the public including school children and a cyclist passed by. A conversation raising big questions in Harrow. In this footage, filmed in late May, a member of Harrow’s Sri Lankan community puts a concern to an enforcement officer: that officers around Parkfield Road, Eastcote Road and nearby are unfairly targeting the Sri Lankan community, and asking people for ID and date of birth. The officer, who says he works for Harrow Council, responds that he doesn’t make the laws, that he’s Asian himself, and that officers don’t single out nationalities but record ethnicity using standard identity codes. he adds that because the area is mainly a Sri Lankan community, that’s reflected in who gets stopped.
