4/12/26 9:35am Update: Heavy #snow started yesterday evening and continued into the night, bringing 13.6" (34.5 cm). That brings our 2-day snow total to 21.5" (54.5 cm). Snowfall and low visibility are still present and we're expecting another 5-10" by tomorrow. #weather #CAwx

2/17/26 8:55am Update: It. Is. Dumping. We had 28.1" (71.5 cm) of #snow in the last day and we're expecting another 2-3 feet by tomorrow night. Anecdotally, the combination of low visibility, intense snowfall, and high winds have created the worst conditions since Feb 2023!

MASSIVE STATISTIC: Official #snowfall rates of 7.5" per hour at the lab between 4-5pm today. Snow is light and fluffy. Onsite researcher recorded the daily 4pm measurement and went back to check accumulation an hour later. #CAwx #CAwater #CAsnow #Snow #Weather #AtmosphericRiver

We have a deep 30.5" (77.5 cm) of new #snow that has fallen over the last 24 hours. Our season total is now 562" (14.29 m) and we're now within one foot of the 2016/2017 winter snowfall total. We're expecting another 2-4 feet through tomorrow and more this week! #CAwx #CAwater

12/25/25 9:35am Update: Good morning and Merry Christmas! It's a snowy one for us. We received 23.6" (60 cm) of #snow in the last day, which brings our 2-day total to 24.8" (63 cm). We're expecting another 2-3 feet, mostly today but a little tomorrow as well. #CAwx #weather

Happy first day of meteorological spring! We've had 35" of new #snow over the last day. That brings our 3-day total to 87.2" (221.5 cm) and our 7-day total to 141.9" (360.5 cm)! Our season total is now 531" and we're ~42" from the '16/'17 winter record. 1/2 #CAwx #CAwater

4/21/26 9:30am Update: #Snow began early this morning and we've accumulated 3.5" (9 cm). We are expecting 1-2 feet total from this storm. Right now we have moderate to heavy snowfall rates with low winds but speeds are expected to increase this afternoon. #weather #CAwater

3/2/24 8:45am Update: We received 20.7" (52.5 cm) of #snow in the last day, which brings our storm total to 39.8" (101 cm) so far. Several more feet are expected by Monday morning. We lost power overnight but were able to keep all systems online. It's back on for now.

We have received 19.1" (48.5 cm) of #snow in the last day. Snowpack at the lab is now 102% of median to date. Conditions have already deteriorated this morning with gusty winds and significantly reduced visibility. The next 24 hours will be the heaviest portion of the storm.

11/5/2025 9:35am Update: The storm has arrived and is bringing us #snow. In fact, between the snow and windy conditions, it's absolutely dumping out there! Most of the precipitation is expected to be rain, so we probably won't see too much accumulation, if any. #CAwx #CAwater

10/2/25 10:25am No snow yet but plenty of rain over the last 24 hours, which is a great start to the 2026 water year that began yesterday. These early rain storms help prime our soil and keep it moist meaning less water from our snow has to do that job later. #CAwx #CAwater

2/13/25 8:45am Update: We have 11.8" (30 cm) of new #snow this morning with moderate to high snowfall rates currently. We expect a lull in rates over the next couple of hours but it should pick up again around noon. Another 2-3 feet of snow is expected by tomorrow at the lab.
