The tees at Royal Melbourne have several discs set in the ground with seemingly random numbers on. They are tee positions so the course always plays the exact yardage on the card when they move the boxes around. I’ve never seen that anywhere else. It’s next level geekery!

Straight off the plane at Dunedin and out at Chisholm Links. A really pleasant course and amazing value at NZ$45 - that’s £20. This is the par 4 9th. One of the best holes I’ve played in New Zealand. A testing par 4 along the coast with a rolling fairway and elevated green. 👍

In spring 2021 I was looking for something to do. My job was coming to an end and I wasn't quite sure what the future held. I bought a drone and for more days than I care to remember I got up at 4:30am to film the West Links at North Berwick Golf Club. It helped clear my mind! You can see the full video of all 18 holes on my website and YouTube. But if you just fancy watching some nice shots of possible my favourite course in the world, this should do the trick!

Just how good is Royal Dornoch ? Well, the US GOLF Magazine has it ranked at number 10 in the world - above the likes of Muirfield, Turnberry and Pebble Beach. Tom Doak explained to me why he thinks that is - 'The more I've thought about it over the years, I have come to the conclusion that Dornoch is the Scottish links most likely to appeal to Americans. It’s so pretty and after the opening holes you always have a view of the water'. He then went on to wax lyrical about the approach shots and interesting set of greens! I'll be heading there on June 23rd next year if you want to join me to see for yourself. In the meantime, here's the 14th hole, Foxy.

It’s off to the Highlands for the next in ‘Scotland’s Ultimate Course’. I had to include @CastleStuart - it’s such a great course in a wonderful setting. I could have picked at least half a dozen holes from there but the 2nd fitted in well. Hole 2 Castle Stuart Par 5, 530 yards
