Today marks the 10 year anniversary of 18 year old McKenna Hilton's death. She was strangled to death by her mixed race half-brother, sixteen-year-old Savon Schmus. According to reports, Schmus had told friends he wanted to have sex with his sister. McKenna refused to have sex with him, so he strangled her to death in their father's apartment. Schmus then used her car to move her lifeless body to a wooded area, where he dragged it on the road and dumped it—before going to lunch and heading back home to play video games and getting high. At Savon Schmus’s October 2017 sentencing hearing, McKenna's mom, Stacey Hilton, delivered an emotional victim impact statement. She spoke directly to Schmus, stating, "I hate you, I will never forgive you," and told the entire courtroom she hoped he would eventually leave prison "in a body bag." Mckenna was the victim of her father's mistake. His sin was revisited by her and she paid the ultimate price with her life. RIP McKenna Elizabeth Hilton.
