NNPC wanted to do maintenance on an oil well in Okrika Rivers state. They awarded the contract to Builders Resources Limited. While working on the well, They caused a fire that has been burning on the river since 25th Feb 2024, polluting the environment and killing all fishes in the river, leaving the community with no way to fish or farm.
