Stock just got replenishment at UR-CST a.k.a UR Nyarugenge Campus laptop distribution point. “Ikizere kiriyongereye”, one student was heard saying on seeing the van loaded with the machines arriving. Certainly all who successfully applied for laptops here will get one by Monday.

DENMARK–RWANDA PARTNERSHIP ADVANCES RESEARCH & INNOVATION AT UR On 16 February 2026, Denmark’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Lars Løkke Rasmussen, visited the University of Rwanda Headquarters in #Kigali, where he was received by UR leadership alongside a high-level delegation from the Embassy of Denmark. The visit featured a walk-and-talk to the School of Architecture and Built Environment, showcasing UR’s strengths in applied research, sustainable design, and innovation aligned with Rwanda’s national transformation agenda. The Minister engaged with students and staff, highlighting UR’s project-based learning and solutions-driven approach to contemporary development challenges. A key milestone was the official launch of the #Danida-funded Knowledge and Innovation Programme (KIP) under the GeoAI for Land Systems Science Partnership led by the University of Copenhagen. The programme strengthens capacity in geography, data science, and geospatial AI, while offering fully funded MSc scholarships for UR students, deepening long-term Denmark–Africa academic cooperation. The visit concluded with a symbolic photo session, reaffirming the shared commitment of #Denmark and #Rwanda to advancing research excellence, innovation, and strategic higher education partnerships.

A CLOUD WITH A SILVER LINING Recently, an unfamiliar individual circulated images purported to depict our Huye Campus. Whatever the motive behind this disinformation, it produced one positive outcome: it prompted us to take a fresh, honest look at our environment. In doing so, we reaffirmed the campus’s cleanliness and its unique blend of heritage and modernity — truly a cloud with a silver lining.

ORIENTATION VIBES AT UR HUYE CAMPUS Huye Campus, the University of Rwanda’s largest academic hub, hosts three colleges — the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, the College of Arts and Social Sciences, and the College of Business and Economics. Of the more than 14,000 newly admitted students, nearly 6,000 are joining this campus. The video captures the genuine energy and excitement that filled Huye from 27 October to 7 November.
