Seems like there are more Butterflies than there has been for years? Anyone else noticed?

I despair! 🤬 Some Twat/s just set fire to our local wetlands’ ‘dead hedge’! Thankfully the Fire Brigade put it out before it spread further.

How do we feel about Woodpeckers?

Can you ID this bird? Filmed this morning finding its breakfast in my lawn. I've always been amazed by their plumage. Considered invasive in the States, in the UK breeding population has fallen by over 80% since the 1970s, causing them to be placed on the red list. Any fans out there?

So who can correctly ID this bird and is it male or female? (A most welcome visitor this morning)
