All the men who survived the USS Liberty are asking for is the right to tell the truth in front of Congress and the American people. That’s it. Not revenge, not money, not politics. Truth. On June 8, 1967, a clearly marked U.S. Navy ship was attacked, killing 34 American sailors and wounding 171 others. The men who lived through it carried their wounded shipmates, fought to save a crippled vessel, and then were ordered into silence. For decades, they kept quiet not by choice, but by command. Today, those survivors are in their 70s, 80s, and 90s. Time is running out. They are not asking Congress to assign blame or the public to pick sides. They are asking for the chance to testify, to place the facts on the record, and to be heard before they are gone. If this country truly stands for truth, accountability, and honoring those who serve, then allowing these men to speak should be the easiest decision of all. Let them testify. Let the record be complete. Let history be honest. We deeply appreciate likes, shares, and retweets. But don't stop there. Visit our website and join us. 🇺🇸 “It Was Pure Hell, and they committed War Crimes.” — Phil Tourney recalls from the USS Liberty Attack "We didn't even get any help from our government for 17 hours". "We all became Doctors, doing everything we could." Moe Shafer, USS Liberty Survivor. Nearly six decades later, when USS Liberty survivors speak about June 8, 1967, the emotion is still there. Not rehearsed. Not political. Just raw memory from men who lived through something most people cannot imagine. The attack lasted nearly two full hours. Jets strafed the ship. Napalm burned the decks. Then the torpedo struck — lifting the ship out of the water before slamming it back down. Many sailors believed in that moment the USS Liberty was about to roll over and sink. But the ordeal didn’t stop there. Survivors describe torpedo boats circling the ship and firing at anything that moved. Life rafts were destroyed as they were lowered into the water — the very rafts meant to carry the most seriously wounded sailors if the ship had to be abandoned. Inside the ship, chaos turned into desperate courage. With 174 men wounded, the crew became medics, nurses, and surgeons for one another. The ship’s doctor — himself gravely wounded — reportedly treated others and saved countless lives that night. When survivors tell the story today, it isn’t just about the attack. It’s about the suffering they saw, the friends they lost, and the way ordinary sailors fought to keep each other alive. Some memories never fade. Honor the 34. Stand with the Survivors. Justice for Liberty (2022) is a feature-length documentary that investigates the June 8, 1967, attack on the USS Liberty, a U.S. Navy technical research ship, by Israeli air and naval forces during the Six-Day War. The film serves as both a historical record and an advocacy piece, centered on the survivors' decades-long quest for an official, transparent congressional investigation into the incident. On June 8, 1967, during the Six-Day War, the USS Liberty—a U.S. Navy research ship—was brutally attacked by Israeli air and naval forces. The assault resulted in the deaths of 34 American servicemen and left 174 wounded. While the official government stance remains that the incident was a case of "mistaken identity," the survivors have spent over five decades fighting for the truth. The documentary Justice for Liberty captures their harrowing firsthand accounts and their relentless quest for an official congressional investigation into what they describe as a deliberate attack and a subsequent political cover-up. Filmed during a reunion of the ship’s survivors, this powerful documentary gives a voice to the most decorated crew in U.S. Naval history for a single engagement. These veterans share details that were suppressed for years, including evidence of pre-attack surveillance and the jamming of distress frequencies. The film isn't just a look back at history; it is a call to action for every American to stand with these heroes. It challenges us to ask why our government has never held a full, transparent inquiry into the loss of American lives at the hands of an ally. If you believe our veterans deserve the truth and a seat at the table of justice, please watch Justice for Liberty and visit to see how you can help. It is time to end the silence and ensure that the sacrifices made by the crew of the USS Liberty are never forgotten. #JusticeForLiberty #USSLiberty #HonorOurVeterans #NeverForget We deeply appreciate likes, shares, and retweets.
