With everyone complaining about the lighting, I think it’s genuinely a misunderstanding. The lighting is fine! The grade is super flat. Wonder if any movie ever has updated its grade mid-screenings or if that would be too costly to re-distribute.

“They shot Heated Rivalry for $5 and a dream” when actually they used some of the most expensive cameras on earth (ARRI Alexa 35) and had a full camera team. It may be low-budget compared to (for example) Stranger Things, but it’s not THAT low. #heatedrivarly #cinematography

Realized someone had to get footage of the growing Heated Rivalry Effect, and it might as well be me! Here’s a small sampling of what I’ve been filming for the last 3 months:

Lost 70lbs. And for those who have been asking: a protein-rich diet plays a huge role. I don’t have time to cook, either. So processed food is how I sustain myself. Here’s a little grocery haul. (Not a licensed nutritionist. Not actual advice - just what works for me.)

2024 was one of the best years of my life! Went to Europe 3 times for work, directed a short film, bought a new camera, shot over two dozen projects (including a show), spoke at VidCon and Adobe MAX, and lost 60lbs. And most importantly - made time for friends new and old.
