If we want to stop a potentially devastating war between #Eritrea and #Ethiopia, we need to target the real architect of the situation: Abiy Ahmed Ali 🇪🇹. He needs to stop threatening with violence and instead negotiate sea access (NOT ownership) like every other landlocked country.

Eritreans are suffering so much in our country and after they are forced to flee, and it's all because of a few individuals who are committed to destroying #Eritrea. How can their unnecessary suffering not anger more Eritreans born in the diaspora? Why's their pain not your pain?

I don’t understand why many in the Eritrean opposition only have been ridiculing brigade nehamedu (when we know the reasons behind their tactics, lack of strategy and problematic statements) instead of exploring how we can help the first mass-movement of young Eritrean survivors.

Ethiopia needs to stop pretending Isaias Afewerki committed the Tigray genocide on his own. Here’s my reaction to the article published by former Ethiopian president Mulatu Teshome Wirtu yesterday. Still surprised Al Jazeera English published this garbage.

Designer Awet G Woldegebriel recently met with Eritrea’s dictator to talk about investing into youth and culture. We all know that Isaias would never do that. This was just to help Awet’s business & whitewash the dictatorship. Anyone who cares about human rights should speak up against this.

Today, it has been exactly 24 years since #Eritrea became a dictatorship. My heart breaks every time I think about everyone who have been betrayed by the government and its supporters. May we be inspired by our imprisoned heroes to never give up the fight for a free Eritrea.

Nothing pisses me off more than seeing people romanticise #Eritrea after only experiencing the country as a tourist. I’m starting a petition to make them all go back as citizens for a few years and then report back with how they feel about the country.

This is the story of how the founding director of Eritrea's public television was imprisoned 24 years ago, and has not been seen since. His name is Seyoum Tsehaye, and he is an internationally recognised photographer and journalist. He also happens to be my uncle.

Many in the diaspora support indefinite national service in #Eritrea by saying that it allows us to not depend on the West but 1. Eritrea still takes money from the West. 2. It’s up to the youth if they want to make that massive sacrifice, not ppl sitting comfortably miles away

In 2021, VICE News interviewed me for a documentary and made such a grave and careless mistake in the editing process that I, FOUR years later, still get harassment for it. I asked them to state that I had nothing to do with the production/the footage they used but they never did

Most of the people who tragically died crossing the English channel a few days ago were from #Eritrea. I talked to BBC News Africa about the conditions in the country that has forced countless Eritreans to flee since the dictatorship was established in 2001.

My question to Getachew K Reda during his infamous Al Jazeera interview with Mehdi Hasan focused on how he could have witnessed the horrors of the conflict, only to turn around and work with the same government that committed the crimes and also is denying its victims justice.

This is the story of how the head of #Eritrea’s largest church was imprisoned without trial in 2006 and died in detention 16 years later. His name was Patriarch Abune Antonios and his story is not unique. We need to stop normalising the illegal Eritrean prison system.

Why we should never stop talking about 18 September 2001 - the day #Eritrea became a dictatorship.

Independence day should only be celebrated by Eritreans who actually honour the wishes of our liberation fighters by continuing their fight for a country where our people are treated with dignity. Come celebrate with us in London this Saturday (registration link below) ❤️
