After finishing his studies, he tried to start a hollow bricks factory in Mattathur. The Panchayat officials did everything to prevent him from starting one. At every step, they would put up new obstacles in the form of clearances to obtain &the project got delayed indefinitely. The Panchayat officials probably didn't get their "dues". Athul Krishna wasn't one to let go of this lightly. He started an educational institution- cum- consultancy called Pie Builders & Developers,started teaching masonry &architecture & circumvented all the red tape. He didn't stop there. He started a YouTube channel, thro which he started exposing all the deficiencies & discrepancies in the projects undertaken by the Mattathur Panchayat. His videos went viral. People would comment on his videos that the Panchayat members must be ruing the day they rubbed Athul the wrong way. Athul Krishna has won as #BJP candidate from his ward in Mattathur village. Other politicians contest & win so that they can utilise the power for their own benefit and that of their followers. But Athul promises that every penny of his honorarium shall be spent for the Panchayat.
